when i first moved here in 1979, we rented a house on 99ave between 105/106 streets and those parking lots were there then: 100 ave was called "the stroll" 'cause that's where a lonely boy could find some comfort. Hookers used those lots constantly for tricks... the fun was banging on the parked cars with their motors running. if you get my drift. Who owns them?

^ My first priority as well. It's an absolute travesty that this lot has been in this shape for as long as it has.
If you're gonna include Tower 101 as an empty lot, might as well include the Arlington site too.
It's now almost 20 years since the building was destroyed by fire.

I wished Anne Stevenson would’ve been as aggressive as Ashley Salvador with derelict properties, and pass some policy to increase taxes to these locations, or force them to turn them into parks or something.

I assume this is a joke, but in case it's not, the City did exactly that. It's part of the new Land Use Bylaw and has been since January.

Not much has happened with the Arlington site since January, or in fact 2008 ...

Laws are meaningless of not enforced.
It's not a law. It's a Land Use Bylaw amendment that increases taxes on derelict properties.

If the property owner is okay with paying triple property taxes, they don't have to do anything.

Bylaw. This is exactly the problem here, we don't want them to continue to do nothing in this case. We actually want the problem solved.

ATCO RFP out there for their office space. Sounds like they will remain Downtown, but I am curious to see if they remain or which space they may end up in.

Telus? CWB? RHW Place?

How much space do they need? And are they currently spread out in a few different buildings?
