  1. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 8 Elm | 218.2m | 69s | Reserve Properties | Arcadis

Judging by the most recent photos, aren't both the buildings on Yonge demo'd? Either they plan on some PoMo style façade recreations or perhaps the rendering hasn't been updated to reflect this (significant) change yet? Wouldn't be surprised if the developer decided to forego the façade...
  2. NorthshoreCity

    Oakville Toronto | Martillac Block B | 52.23m | 12s | Treasure Hill Homes | Graziani + Corazza

At 152M I think it might look something closer to this 😅

    Toronto Toronto | 34 Maitland | 183m | 56s | Hazelview | Turner Fleischer

I certainly agree that more should be done to retain historical interiors but at the end of the day I would much rather have the building facade than nothing at all. Below are 3 examples in Boston that were recently demolished. Had these been in Toronto I'm sure that the facades would have been...

    Toronto Toronto | 34 Maitland | 183m | 56s | Hazelview | Turner Fleischer

In Boston buildings like these would just be torn down on the basis of "there is enough historical context in the city". Things might not be perfect in Toronto, but I appreciate that a decent level of effort is taken to preserve the original facades of buildings rather than full demolition jobs...

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Since there hasn't been any photo updates since November 24, these photos from December 21 might provide a little insight as to how excavation is ramping up:

I get to say it again, 346M 👀 Sam Mizrahi must be back at it punching in the air
  8. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 241 Church | 170.7m | 53s | Graywood | Turner Fleischer

Not much better than what Boston is doing, perhaps worse here, they added string lights and swings so that influencers can get some photoshoots in and boost the developers branding. https://thefenway.com/news/article/2022/visit-the-station-the-fenways-newest-community-space

    Mississauga Toronto | M6 at M City | ?m | 57s | Rogers Real Estate | Hariri Pontarini

The legacy of BMW /M Performance inspired buildings continues...this one almost feels like a monument to the now discontinued M6.
  10. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | 505 University | 212.89m | 64s | Cartareal Corp | BDP Quadrangle

Seriously! University is on track to look like Park Avenue in NYC between 46th & 60th.
  11. NorthshoreCity

    Toronto Toronto | Auberge On The Park | 148.9m | 45s | Tridel | Graziani + Corazza

I've been having a hard time believing that a 45 storey building was stuffed into 133M so I dug up the architectural plans and it is 148.9M to the T.O. mech. penthouse. Database can be updated per the 2019 architectural plans for buildings B & C via...

    Toronto Toronto | Union Centre | 298m | 54s | Westbank | Bjarke Ingels Group

I think the CTBUH can make an exception and have this singular tree qualify as an "architectural spire" for official supertall status. Can't wait to see this one get off the ground, I've watched The Spiral grow in NYC over the past 3 years and the cladding/gardens look great on it!

100% agree, I instantly cringed on behalf of the interviewer as soon as it started! 93 or not, the ageism doesn't have to come in that strong. How awkward it must've been for the interviewer to realize they were essentially telling the man he won't be around much longer once he retorted🤦‍♂️
