    Toronto Toronto | 480 Adelaide West | 8m | 2s | Fineway Properties | Ferdinand Wagner Architect

I always thought that this property would be eventually combined with 490 Adelaide and something up to 17 storeys would be built here (similar to Minto’s 123 Portland next to it). A 2-storey building seems like such a waste, a 5- or 6-storey commercial building would work nicely here.

    Niagara Falls Toronto | Niagara 77 Condos | 248.85m | 77s | Fugiel International Group | Chamberlain

Though this is a fantasy private development (most likely trying to get approvals so the property could be flipped to another developer, just like many vacant lots in the area), I think the City should be improving the the quality and intensity of low and mid-rise near the falls instead wasting...

    Toronto Toronto | Wonder | 31.7m | 8s | Graywood | Diamond Schmitt

That inconsistency happens in a few places, but with the mess of mullions going on you have to go looking for them to notice.

^^^ or go the opposite route and have the mullions (and spandrels) in multiple colours and create a plaid or tartan pattern — maybe not so appropriate here. This development is such a shame because the original building is such a small portion of the overall development and the new ugly building...

    Toronto Toronto | 675 King West | 74.9m | 21s | Colonia Treuhand | Sweeny &Co

Or even worse, a commercial billboard. This prominent intersection needs something interesting and fun. Maybe that blank wall could be a cool opportunity for an impressive public art installation. The clocks on the Clocktower Lofts across the street never seems to be working and ever since the...

    Toronto Toronto | ZEN King West | 103.02m | 31s | CentreCourt | IBI Group

I totally agree. Every time I pass by that building I always think that a mural or even a living/green wall would be prefect for that mass of blank brick wall on the ground floor. What a missed opportunity. Also, the rental building across the street to the south (Liberty House) was originally...

    Condo-sized/compact washer/dryer options

I remember renting a unit at Panorama at Cityplace and all of the units have Ariston all-in-one washer and dryer and they were horrible. It took 4-5 hours to do a load and the laundry was never completely dry (slightly damp) and the capacity was very small (bed linens require two separate...

    Toronto Toronto | Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

I bought a nice 900 sq.ft. unit with 350 sq.ft. of terrace at KING Toronto. I worked with Westbank and they are the most dedicated, passionate and detail-oriented developer here. Other developers should be learning from them. I had bought two pre-construction condos here for my home and I still...

    Toronto Toronto | Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

I’m so happy I sold my unit here more than a year ago. It had those depressing tiny balconies on the corner with a big black monolith blocking a good chunk of the view. I always had a strong feeling that those perforated back faceted panels would be VE’ed for solid aluminum panels (and not so...

    Toronto Toronto | Scala | 61.57m | 18s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

The zig-zagging pattern of the railings gives it more interest and makes the facade looking less of a behemoth, though I don’t really have an issue with something so overpowering when it’s surrounded by the Don Valley. Is the 4-storey low rise at 30 Okra Tomar Cresent part of this development...

    Toronto Toronto | Waterworks Building Redevelopment | 47.55m | 13s | MOD Developments | Diamond Schmitt

It’s a bit odd that one of the sofas don’t seem to belong (chain supply issues, lol?!) The photographic mural looks like a piece recycled from their condo marketing/sales centre. It would be nice to see something artistic or historic instead. It makes it look like there is too much furniture in...

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Canada House | 231.97m | 74s | Concord Adex | Arcadis

The yellow painted concrete undersides is looking less like wood and more like the colour of the Puente de Luz bridge which is not very flattering. It’s so pale that I’d not really adding any colour, warmth or interest to the exterior, which is desperately needed here.

    Toronto Toronto | 629 King Residences (was Thompson Residences) | 53.34m | 15s | Freed | Saucier + Perrotte

I walk by here everyday. On top of that, there are occasional vomit puddles over the weekend. It’s often littered with empty cans, bottles, and food wrappers, and there is often someone smoking a joint there stinking up the area. Otherwise it’s a nice walkway. People suck.

Taken today: Insulation installed. Looks like these two houses at the corner won’t be demolished for a while.

365-367 Queen Street West (Silver Snail site, 3s, Montgomery Sisam)

Didn’t Tweed (a cannabis company) occupy the second floor for a short while? Other than that this building has been vacant since it was built. It’s unfortunate that TD is taking up the entire ground floor space — what a waste of a storefront. I’m sure the rents are really high so only chain...

yup, it’s interesting as they both are in the same building but Love Child is vacating more than 4 months later. Love Child does only operate a few nights a week while Bank Note operates all week day and night. A regularly operating restaurant would encounter lots more disruption when site work...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line: King-Bathurst Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

I would assume Love Child would be in the same situation. Non-commercial buildings near the path of the subway line have been contacted recently by Metrolinx of the planned work and disruptions and request to access their properties. In the case of Regulars and Bank Note, they regularly operate...

Regulars and The Bank Note were supposed to close August 16th, but it looks like Regulars closed earlier than planned.
