Toronto certainly looks like a big city from the pic ?

I agree, I can't think of a condo-apartment neighborhood that is too much better than CityPlace (with the exception of ultra luxurious area like Yorkville), Liberty village maybe?

this beauty is on the rise, filling the blank in the skyline

So how does this work for the condo purchasers? Let's say you bought a floorplan on top floor now you are two floors higher?

and Cityplace too, there is a bridge connecting CityPlace to the well, knowing it's the center of downtown millenials, should provide some foot traffic.

If it gives the market hall and retail area a good vibe I can see it doing very well. Maybe it's just me but I don't like to go to Eaton Center unless I have a specific item on my list, the Well seems to be the place you can just go walk around after dinner. I really hope they get a few unique...

I think the lights are only for the lower floors? Or is it gonna be throughout the building?

42, a quick question, is the planning still able to ask for some major revisions (e.g. height, style, setback) in the site planning application? Or is it already sort of finalized?

so bad and so massive ? I checked out some other Richmond Architects projects, well I guess the bottom half of architecture students in the class also need somewhere to work for.

yup, you are right, my apology for that wrong number. its 1B not 3B for the rebuild, and a 2.2B allocated for the maintenance in the next 9 years. Other numbers are correct, an unfunded 2B for LRT, and Gardiner represents 53% of this year's city maintenance budget. But no, Gardiner is not...

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle Lakeside (Phase 1) | 174.86m | 54s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Because Toronto is spending over $3 billion just to repair 1.7 km of Gardiner Expressway, while the cost of building waterfront LRT is about $1.9 - $2.3 billion (currently unfunded). In fact, Gardiner alone accounts for 53% of Toronto's transportation repair budget this year. Not to mention it...

The separation is not that bad I think... some King West condos are worse in that front

I thought all major redevelopment like this need to go through DRP?

Why didn't this project go through design review panel?

Public transit has always been and is going to be the biggest problem for all Queens Quay East buildings. For a psf price of $1100+, 20 mins walking distance to Union Station is not that attractive. Seriously, knock down the Gardiner and build a waterfront LRT, you will have a new downtown over...

I thought it looked so bad in the pictures until I saw it in person today. Total disaster.

I'm not sure if this is related to the Mirvish+Gehry project, it should be the heritage renovation project on 322 King St W? But it's good to know they are making progress http://projectcore.com/322-king-west/

Toronto's construction boom from another perspective (data source: skyscrapercenter, selected cities) To me, New York is the center of the universe no doubt, Hong Kong represents the past, Asia represents now, Toronto is the future.
