Are we getting painted balconies here? Please tell me yes. That would be the final tidying piece of this project. PLEASE I want to like it but my god those undersides.....

They can streetscape all they like until the roads are paved in gold. Without anything activating the street that isn't remotely engaging, the street life will be corporate, sterile and bland. I'd put up a hefty sum of money to bet there will be a bank occupying all that retail GFA which will do...

    Toronto Toronto | Hill And Dale Residences | 27.13m | 6s | Old Stonehenge | Studio JCI

This base feels like a time warp to the 70's and 80's glass protrusion designs. Sorry, but I'd rather leave my striped Corvette, cocaine and leather suit back in Vice City where they belong. Yuck.

    Toronto Toronto | 245 Queen Street East | 94.3m | 25s | ONE Properties | Graziani + Corazza

My god this is terrible. What an absolute monstrosity foisted onto the city. If they are going to do this, then what's the point of heritage retention? Just let the original plan go forward as atleast the desecration of heritage would be replaced with something nice. If the developer bought...

It may be monies from be the 171 Front development which is the Dominion Public building at Front and Yonge which the Feds via Canada Lands Corporation sold for (IIRC) $250 million.

I don't even think think the facade necessarily needs to be preserved as such or in its current configuration, but referenced/incorporates/celebrated in the architectural language and character of the building or park

    Toronto Toronto | 2 Carlton | 251.1m | 73s | Northam | Arcadis

I think we all agree this intersection needs some rethinking and that the TTC entrances needs to be expanded and better integrated. I don't think carte blanche for a second rate glassy attempt at "movement" or "playfulness" or extrusions or whatever the developer and architecture team want to...

    Toronto Toronto | 2 Carlton | 251.1m | 73s | Northam | Arcadis

The significant portion is the podium architecture at the corner. The upper portions are fairly typical and not all that note worthy. But that crisscrossing diagonal grid at the base, clock portion. And playful and geometric concrete patterning are definitely worthy of preserving given the...

    Toronto Toronto | Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

So the UPX today took an incredibly odd and interesting route to get into and out of Union today due to USRC signal upgrades. Inbound trains from the Weston Sub entered the USRC on the northern track, crossing over the underpass (normally used in the inbound approach route) and passed through...

Hi Dan you can check it out on the city's development application information centre. Website at toronto.ca/aic you can find documents for all the development applications there.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Is it I don't know what rights CN might have retained over the line and can completely understand they have industry customers along the route. That said, deliveries should not be done to the detriment of passenger service... why not overnight?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Completely agree. One needs to be vigilant io the state of things. Ie don't run out like a fool across suchs structures at night and keep extremely cautious when your around century old abandoned infrastructures. Important to have your Whits about you lest you eat pavement below...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I should hope that frieght movement is on the CP North toronto sub and Davenport Diamond crossing. If not i would be very concerned of scheduling incompetence when Metrolinx owns the line...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

For those who have a had the opportunity to stand or sit on that bridge and take in a sunset, congrats on seeing one of the most beautiful vistas in the city! I wouldn't know, but a "friend" tells me it's one of a kind.;) I guess next time he'll see it will be from and HFR train. Now...

    Toronto Toronto | Richmond Adelaide Centre: 120 & 130 Adelaide West Recladding | 136.85m | 35s | Oxford Properties | WZMH

I've now realized the black is simply the reflection of TD and the DBS black building at York and Adelaide. God help us....☹️

At least it retained the black? Gotta be honest I liked the matte finish more.

New cladding comes with some black to it on the non-window portion it seems. Waiting cautiously for more to see what true result is.

There may already be a thread for this but does anyone know what is going on on top of the CF tower on Queen? Took this picture of some scaffolding etc up top

    Toronto Toronto | Canary Commons | 42.06m | 12s | DundeeKilmer | a—A

Why are we still entertaining blank glass walls in This city? This does abosutely nothing to help the streetlife and when the inevitable store shelves and window vynil of a prospective grocery store or large format retailer go in, it will create a hard, faceless and exhausting void in what...
