Very, very nice. Can't wait to win the lottery so I can stay there during my Toronto visits!

For the long, long term investor Detroit might also make sense.

This proposal could be the moment Toronto developers crossed the line from everyday villainy to cartoonish supervillainy.

President Joe Biden's United States of America

Thursday's EPA ruling may have an even bigger impact--both in America and across the world--than Roe v Wade. June 29th was a dark, dark day for America. And there are going to be even worse days in the near future with this Supreme Court. America as we once knew it is finished.

    2022 43rd Ontario general election (June 2, 2022)

That's marvelous when it works, but without electoral reform and/or a rejigging of the three left of centre parties this province will always be at the mercy of the 18% who voted PC.

    2022 43rd Ontario general election (June 2, 2022)

Electoral reform is the only way to keep populitst PC thugs like Ford out of power since the 3 leftish parties are incapable of working together. It might help if the Liberal party simply vanished since that brand has become so tarnished and uninspiring. The NDP would then have to move to the...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I'm sure at some point Doug Ford will contemplate bringing it all the way to his front porch and probably insist that at least one station bear the name of his deceased brother. If anything can be stamped as his (Doug's) legacy it's Toronto"s "subways, subways, subways.". And nothing does this...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

A full crosstown Shepherd has loads of potential--with multiple interchanges within the expanding network--esp considering that this is an honest to god subway, unlike the watered down hybrid a few klicks to the south.

Charles De Gaulle is my personal pick for worst airport experience ever, for reasons too numerous to list.

    Toronto Toronto | First Parliament Site | ?m | ?s

Admittedly, the vast majority of the residential construction is subpar and will haunt the city for generations, but the bones of a potential future great city are at least being built out. If enough money, power, self importance, and urban pride accumulates over the next half century or so it...

I know this a dumbed downed and pretty simple design compared to the original, but I still think it's a terrifci addition to the neighbourhood and the city as a whole. The elegant glass and the orangy fins look pretty classy, imo.

Just another small example of the latest great rennaisance of Toronto city-building. Exciting times. Hope to live long enough to see it all through!

    Vaughan Toronto | RioCan Colossus Centre Redevelopment | ?m | 55s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

Actually, I now recall proposing, years ago on this forum (can't remember which thread) , that Canada's Wonderland simply extend one of their rollercoasters down to Vaughan Centre subway station. I still stand by that idea as it would be both fun AND economical.

    Vaughan Toronto | RioCan Colossus Centre Redevelopment | ?m | 55s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

If I were to rate various instant-downtowns as the best candidates for a circular style monorailI I'd definitely have MCC at the top. Followed very closely by Vaughan CC, and then Ogdenville to round out the top three..

The kinky windows are, imo, the most unique and attractive element of this building. Will make for some nice photos of traffic reflections in the glass. (Reminds me of a certain office building in the Montreal CBD with downward angled glass that perfectly refects the street traffic below)...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Putin is a madman and is only as strong and dangerous as he is because Russia is strong. and dangerous. The only way to defang him is to defang Russia. For the safety of the region and, frankly, the world, Russia and its nuclear armed military must be rendered as weak as a starving kitten. Not...
