    Toronto Toronto | Oriole GO Station Relocation | 8.81m | 1s | Metrolinx | Architecture 49

Considering the new bridge just went up in 2020 (I think) it's unfathomable that Metrolinx did not add such a basic amenity as bike ramps along the sides of both staircases. As it stands, the station is a nightmare for accessibility and wayfinding. I used it to cross over the 401 by bike last...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Get with the century, man! ;) I kid. But yes "dropped" meaning released, from the wold of music, specifically hip hop I would say.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Thanks for updates, I haven't biked out that way in a while. The major MUPs I am referring to are the older sidewalk level ones along major "east-west" arteries, which would include Eglinton, Burnamthorpe, Britannia, Queensway, and maybe one or two others? Don't get me wrong these are...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I know the speed limits, and disagree. Not everyone is a savvy cyclist (or pedestrian). And my suggestions are aimed at making it a better trail for all users. Not sure really why you made it into a debate, but I guess we can leave it there!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

In my recent rides there the surface quality was terrible and needs to be redone. I don't know what a "401 for cyclists" means but you should be able to ride within the normal speed limits safely, without coming around corners and almost hitting other cyclists and pedestrians which has happened...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

In addition to this, the trail as such through the woods along the lake heading east towards the spit is rubbish. Root-break-through and general degradation has made it a bumpy ride. It's also always been too narrow and windy for safe biking, unless you really slow down through here. Needs a...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

The old MUPs are great, but are not the same as on-street protected lanes. They are basically wide sidewalks along 2 or 3 major east-west thoroughfares, and some patchier north-south ones. Writ large, cycling in Missisauga if you need to get anywhere that's not on those aforementioned MUPs, or...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Update from the finally responsive consultation coordinator, Nathalie. Probably had to run this up the chain to get an approved reply: So, basically, they didn't get the lines done before winter. Odd as it's probably the easiest part of this whole project. And they could have mentioned this in...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Unfortunately they are not quite "complete" despite the city claiming substantial completion in a recent email update. Your video doesn't go east to Spadina, where the last block before the switch to curb-protection has no bike lanes or infrastructure of any kind. This is a narrow section, due...

Yes I mentioned in my first post on this (I think). It's not an official route though, it's an unpaved muddy cut through a parking lot. So I feel like TRCA and users in general would feel like that could and should be improved.

Yes her name and email was on the sign I found, and I reached out. Maybe she still works there ! :) Incidentally I also posted this in the thread for the specific The Keeley development. While looking at their site, I saw a rendering clearly showing a wooded path through from the trail to Keele...

    Toronto Toronto | The Keeley | 47.85m | 13s | TAS | Teeple Architects

To somewhat annoyingly reply to myself, a rendering on The Keeley's site, shows in the bottom right corner a paved, wooded greenspace, where a connection from the current trail to the street would be. I guess they haven't done it yet. From the looks of it they are meant to plant a bunch of...

    Toronto Toronto | The Keeley | 47.85m | 13s | TAS | Teeple Architects

Putting this here (though I also tried on a super old thread about the greater Downsview project nearby): I biked down the Black Creek Trail a week or so back, and took a newish paved branch east towards Keele / Downsview Park. I was excited by my discovery until the trail unceremoniously...

LATE reply. I was just searching the forums for info on that branch of the trail that dead ends behind the new condo on Keele (The Keeley, oof) right where you've circled. It's bizarre as you take this nicely paved trail east towards Keele thinking that at least it will connect to the road, but...

Does Toronto Have Enough Tourist Pull?

Just out of curiosity (three years later) was Maple Leaf Gardens not a comparable, if older and smaller venue for music and other non-hockey uses? I read that Elvis played there. Oasis was the final act in 2000! I also wonder (maybe stupidly) whether heating a giant Skydome sized bowl is not a...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Here is the Streetcar Service update on that. Just to add, it's bizarre and terrible how the TTC site uses these embedded route map JPEGs, which are poorly resolved and hard to read, and don't expand on clicking. You can open it in a new tab but it's exactly the same level of barely-readable...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Decent coverage here: https://globalnews.ca/news/10003761/tempers-flare-cycling-infrastructure-montreal-protest-new-bike-lanes/ On the bike lane thumbtacks: there is a history of people seeing bike lane sabotage when it is more often just incidental debris. Though that sounds suspicious for...

That is great news, and the first I've heard of it. If you have anything official on that I'd love to share it!

Agreed on those low maintenance covers. A real scandal that it wasn't addressed. I rode the whole shebang a few times, most recently Westbound from BJW to King. I really like it. A few thoughts and pics: The eastern terminus at Blue Jays Way sucks, and there is no safe bike route to/from...

Good point. I'm sure there are other examples. So maybe not a codified rule. Do you know how recent those cuts were? Things often seem to be shifting in terms of accessibility requirements and standard practices.
