I 100% agree that the 'pushback' from those WFH has more to do about 'personal convenience' then anything - having to get up earlier, get ready, commute, pay for parking, etc. But at the end of the day it is up the respective employer to figure out what works best for their business, whatever...

Not unless there is a significant public interest component to it. I'm not sure what this might be.

You'd be surprised the TI's landlords are dishing out to get some deals done. And this goes for all building classes new or old. This is good for downtown as we avoided building more office space which we don't need to do right now, irrespective of the vacancy rates dropping as per the recent...

And so what if it is 'value-engineering'. If a balcony is important to a particular tenant they they'll make the choice to rent it. If not, then they'll be fine with a juliette. Personal choice.

Oliver Exchange does well. But I can say that many of their projects (especially adaptive reuse/heritage projects) come with a lot of risk and are costly. Many of the projects they do are fuelled by vision, passion and an unbridled love for this city. Regardless each project has to 'float'...

With most deals Landlords typically include a tenant improvement allowance as part of their inducement package. Dollar amounts range, however, recent office deals have seen allowances in the $50-75/SF range. Anyways I think this is a great, great thing for Manulife and our downtown office...

30km/h is too slow. Agreed that the road needs a ‘diet’.

Looks good. Finally a proper sidewalk along the east side from Whyte to MKT. I wonder when they will get the shipping containers on site.

^That's some 'fine grained streetfront retail'....this will be a great addition to the area.

Not sure what type of hornets nest you’re trying to kick with this comment. I think an even bigger question (and more substantiated versus Ian O practicing his TMZ audition) is if they too are searching for a relocation somewhere downtown. Touches nose.

I think you'll see more of this from some of the bigger organizations as they figure out what their longer term space requirements will be.

Maclab's plans aren't particularly hinging on the LRT being open. Sure it helps, but they have been busy revisiting the current zoning and are planning changes to align with their redevelopment programme. I think we'll be hearing more about their plans in the near future.

Anyways, I've heard from one of the bigger GC's that there is an RFP coming back out for the podium....value around $30M IIRC. So that is good news.

Cut and paste in almost all other downtowns right about now. The office asset class isn't that hawt right now...in fact, it's the exact opposite.
