    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

On Sunday I went to the Thorncliffe Costco during the Santa Claus parade. The primary cause of traffic here daily is the construction on Overlea. As a minor factor, the DVP exits at Bloor and Don Mills were overflown with drivers making a long detour to downtown/midtown destinations (due to...

Thank you for the mock-up. For clarity here’s a satellite image to scale with a typical sized pitch. I know this will enable some to beg for even more seating, but I’d rather we get that smaller 10’000 seater and build a nice public plaza on the grounds.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Just idle pile driver attachments, the one attached to the machine in this photo of yours is a helical drill bit while the others standing in the ground (looking like columns) are hammers for the steel beams (piles) driven into the earth. I’m not familiar with the site plan for Aurora. In that...

Scintillating stuff, not sure what your gripe is but I don’t really care. This thread is dead, let’s disband.

The foremost constraint on these bridge designs is the roadway design. @max and @infrastructureTO are correct in pointing out the highly valued criteria of design cost and complexity. Of the four rail overpasses under construction (Gerrard/Carlaw excluded), Logan is the only one receiving a new...

Interesting that the below grade levels have just changed from 4 to 5 in this submission considering the pit was bottomed out a long time ago.

    St Lawrence Market

With market lane getting a refresh soon, I figure we ought to kick the watchdog on this neighbouring lane construction. What gives? This has been blocked off, in one form or another, for over a year now. It says under construction yet it remains untouched. Is there a persistent issue with the...

OT Unsolicited opinion: while Shake Shack and Burger Priest have near identical offerings, I would choose Burger Priest 9/10 times. I tried two different burgers from Shake Shack and I was disappointed as the Burger Priest counterparts were more flavourful and satiating.

Here’s a Parkside alternative I’d like to see explored: Reduce Indian Rd. to one-way with contraflow cycling. Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

I too had an interesting observation at Adelaide and Church… no thoughts or feelings, just an observation. On Adelaide, the left turn signal is distinct to eliminate conflicts with cyclists and pedestrians. However, the transit signal is concurrent with cycling and pedestrian crossing, which...

I figure that remark was a bit of a throwaway. It’s unfortunate it detracts from his main point: Bill 212’s approach to congestion takes away from the non-quick-fix solutions. (paraphrased)

No, that would be an awful design flaw. Trains drive both directions and there are several track crossovers, allowing zonal isolation in response to incidents.

Here's a crude mock up over top of your photo @hawc. I just iteratively copied the profile of each rail and rotated to sort of compensate for how the perspective is distorted by the lens. Also turned down brightness just to highlight my sketch. The space between OL tracks is for the platform...
