For all its flaws, the stretch of King Street around Maverick used to be a really vibrant and lively section. I hope the uses at grade are able to recapture some of that uniqueness as opposed to your typical chain coffee shop, retail bank and nail salon. The trendy part appears to keep moving west.

I find the massing pretty well broken up too which adds to the streetscape. It looks like two different buildings side by side when looking west.

This building is giving the street a new life. It has been a decrepid, back-end street for as long as i remember but at least this podium fills the gap between yonge and bay nicely and will activate it some more in the future.

I expected much better for this key location and neighbourhood.

This one's a beast! (in the best way possible)

I have to say, despite how it turned out on the outside, there is no doubt that no expense was spared on the interior finishings. The last time I was there I was really impressed at the quality of the details in the lobby (great quality paneling, tiles, art, marble and railings)

This is a travesty. The amount and placement of spandrel and mullions, the skimping on precast. The bar has been lowered yet again.

the worst part of this building will no doubt be its north view looking onto PIcasso... Looking great so far

I have to say that the name play (heart of the waterfront) and the heart shape being so visible from so many vantages (condo and office units nearby) is a genius aspect of this design. I like that it adds whimsy and playfulness and engages users at ground level and those in the sky.

Great tidbits. I'm not too big on PoMo but Moshe Safdie's design was grand and of its time and looked substantially larger than the DSAI version. I used to live near the 4S CfPA and hated how the building addressed the east and south elevations. My experiences attending the shows was great...

As someone who lived and worked in the neighbourhood, my position is that all parks are welcome (of course, some will be better than others but all will provide some sort of utility). There is a major lack of outdoor space in the entertainment district for when one is pressed for time or needs...

i have a good feeling about this one. Centrecourt and IBI have done some decent work together and it looks like there's a clear direction regarding the concept for this one (industrial/loft aesthetic).

This is some uninspired garbage that no amount of curtain wall or fin expressionism can save. They shouldn't've bothered with renders as it is clear they had no idea what they were trying to produce.
