It actually looks much better in person. Not that it'll win any innovation awards, but it's a nice waterfront building when you see it close up.

Interesting ... To me it's always been downtown form the Lake to Bloor ... mid-town has been Yonge & Eg ... and uptown has always been Yonge & Sheppard.

I think the city needs more buildings with smaller windows. Not only does it help diversify the look of the various buildings, but not every condo dweller wants giant windows. Perhaps most do, but certainly not all.

Agreed. There was a lot of concern about this area, but it's coming together.

I'm going to say Oct, 32nd, just to be difficult :)

Wow, those windows are stunning! Great job.

You said exactly what I was thinking - agreed 100%.

I just got back from a trip through Oslo - Stockholm - and Copenhagen. It's really depressing to drive past this mess on our waterfront after seeing how other cities handle architecture. Why we allow this to happen to our city is beyond me.

I was in this park over the weekend, and it's really very pleasant.

Although I'm 100% on side with you in terms of having more organic materials used in buildings, I'm not sure it fully applies to this area. This change would be lateral at worst, and more likely an upgrade. That entire section and side of the street is a dead zone today, so you are not losing...

Is that three illegal cannabis stores lined up beside each other? :)

    What a great little building.

I think people are being way too harsh. It's nice, but much more of a square/park than a traditional park. Once you realign what you think it 'should' be, you realize that it's pretty decent in general. I also think you'll need to give it a couple of years to grow in a bit more.

I absolutely love the way the podium is developing.

Lol @ this project. It's like a movie that starts well and then ends so badly, you assume the director got replaced mid-way through. The commercial Loblaws building is great so far ... and the podium for the condo's is also nice ... then your eye unfortunately begins to go to the actual condo...

    Toronto Toronto | Yonge & Rich Condominiums | 156.35m | 46s | Great Gulf | a—A

I have faith this will turn out ok in the end ... Great Gulf is typically fairly reliable.

That park is terrible imo. One of those designs that are conceptually interesting, but a mess in reality. The park is not inviting or pleasant to spend time in, and it handles day to day wear very badly.

    Toronto Toronto | Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

I could not disagree more. Those old facades give the building and street a real sense of soul. Perhaps it's not for everyone, but I love that we preserve these in Toronto.

Yea, I've been waiting to see how it progressed ... but I think this is terrible. The various elements are all fighting with each other, and even worse, it feels like it detracts from the other more interesting buildings around it.
