Memories are oddly short. Expectations of a subway or rail system whatever it is are high. As they should be. Ottawa took a jump into big city status and the plans for phase II are ambitious.

For some reason, I like the stretch from Bay west to Avenue. It seemed green this past summer. As for the granite, it is not up to the vehicle traffic it would seem. Time to find something a bit more robust.

There are valid financial reasons for saying that. But it‘s going to be very hard to mitigate our carbon footprint with a rapid transit network this small. We’ll have to get used to going nowhere very fast. Life will be very local.
