    Hamilton Toronto | Confederation GO Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx

The empty lot on the north side of the tracks is owned by Metrolinx for an eventual parking expansion at Confederation when demand warrants. The rest of the area... yea.

“Getting built” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here..

That's a bit more nuanced of an explanation but generally aligns with my experiences of "upper middle class" and above's transit use. I find those demographics tend to have a mix of people - some only use transit downtown, some only drive, some will drive some times, transit some times.

    Toronto Toronto | Park Lawn GO Station | 14.41m | 2s | First Capital | Hatch

Anyone wealthy enough to own a car basically only ever uses transit when it can beat the travel time of a car. Which is going downtown. Those people in Forest Hill and Oakville drive for 95% of their trips, and use transit to go to the office as driving downtown in rush hour is slower. But the...

    Toronto Queen's Park North Revitalization

The province is early in the process of doing a full depth reconstruction of Queens Park sort of similar to what the Feds are doing with the Parliament buildings right now, albeit on a smaller scale. I'm sure Queens Park South would get cleaned up as a part of that. The talk is that the project...

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle Lakeside (Phase 1) | 174.86m | 54s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

A reminder the cladding is here: This is the affordable housing component and the renderings never made it look good. Let see how the main towers are handled before passing judgement - particularly the balcony glass.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

There is so much extra heavy truck traffic in the Hamilton area along the CN corridor as it's also right beside the major steel industry players (i.e. heavy trucks hauling steel) that the grade crossings regularly get destroyed and need reconstruction. CN rebuilds a crossing in the Hamilton area...

    Hamilton Toronto | St. Paul's Presbyterian Redevelopment | ?m | 30s | Collecdev-Markee

The 2025 Federal Budget mentions this project directly, of all things:

The report to council when they filed the demolition report was that they had no plans to start construction soon.

Yup. I get why rent is cheap right now - VMC is a pretty crappy place to live right now. Most units are without parking spots and VMC is a terrible, terrible place to live without a car as it stands today. As it continues to fill out and retail continues to expand, it should get better though.

VMC will round out. They need population before they can deliver services - now they have the population. Once Quadreal's project on the south side of 7 opens there will be a lot more retail amenity in the area which will help (plus even more people!). Plus the City is supposed to finally get...

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

If it's split across the country and split into housing, transportation, and health.. there won't actually be that much. Toronto represents about 7% of the Canadian population, so if it theoretically gets $3.5 billion.. but if it's split 30/30/30 healthcare, infrastructure, housing.. that's only...

    Hamilton Toronto | 188 Cannon Street East | 106.6m | 33s | Vantage | Arcadis

Today. Construction hoarding up but no activity yet: The lot across the street also appears to have soil testing underway - my understanding is the city bought this lot around 5 years ago to expand Beasley Park.

    Hamilton Toronto | 1 Jarvis Street | 49.5m | 14s | Emblem Developments | Studio JCI

Today. Turned out decently - one of the retail units along Ferguson appears to be leased for a “retail store”, though no actual construction activity inside:

    Hamilton Toronto | KiWi Condos | 49m | 14s | Rosehaven | Kirkor

Today. This turned out fairly well, the landscaping here is particularly attractive. Rosehaven still has the sales office for the Rebecca open at grade:

This was resubmitted in February 2025, so appears to still be active.
