Have they announced updated retail for this yet? With The Well still several years off, I wonder if Whole Foods might suddenly have a re-ignited interest in getting into this neighbourhood within the year.

Does anyone know what has been announced for the final phase of this, running along Niagara? Since they've hit grade, surely they must have announced something, but I can't find it. I'd heard maybe a hotel, or just another phase of condos, but why not get sales going on that before the build begins?

With all the square footage of this development, the four stories added on to the Dominion building seems pretty unnecessary. Hope that one element disappears as this comes closer to happening. I wonder if this is a case of an architect pushing further than they know they'd get in order to...

It's sad that populist movements, built on the support of people who are often dis-advantaged, are almost always actually led by an ego-centric millionaire exploiting people for goals that are against those peoples' best interests. Obviously quite different, but when you look at the tea party...

If it ends up referencing 20 Niagara, I'l be happy. I really hope all those non-glass areas are going to be really well done concrete. It will have an almost neo-brutalist vibe to it, which I'd really like.

Yes, I think this – plus the fact that the building would be run by a condo board that would need to pay for maintenance – would have led to a drastic "cheapening" of the original design anyway. So we would have still had the destruction of all the heritage buildings, and that 'wall' effect...

Oh, the irony. Doug Ford: defender of much needed public services against the influence of private capital.

I hope he once again wishes it's something that no one else ever has to go through... As if he's some victim of circumstance bearing the cross for all of us.

So what are the odds that Rob Ford is the lead-in to SNL tonight. I'd put them at even. Could be Obamacare too.

It's 8AM. So I assume there was no big revelation in the Star as presumed?

Won't be much new to people who follow this thread closely. But will probably open the eyes of some others. I could do without the cheesy dramatizations and obviously staged shots. "Hey Robyn, can you walk and sit down at your desk while looking like you're having an interesting phone call with...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

There was an old quote from Northrop Frye in a NY Times opinion article today: "Toronto is a great place to mind your own business." which is kind of paraphrasing this.

Yes, basically any cable news coverage south of the border seems to really skim the surface of the story. It's only about the crack, while the true story developing (and what is getting people more upset) is that of criminality. Piers Morgan in particular seemed particularly dim-witted and...

I've seen this here many times now. Is speculation on a web forum truly justifiable grounds to sue someone? Like, I get a publication publishing something as fact when it is not, but is a random individual taking a guess subject to a lawsuit?

9AM to 8PM? I very much doubt that! Has he ever worked that long?

We need to get David Simon up here. With all these story threads, it sounds like the second coming of The Wire!

    Rob Ford's Toronto

If they can link Rob Ford to offences that involved the recovery/attempted recovery of the tape, the solicitation charge will just be a further way to piece everything together. If they can prove he was involved in not just obstruction of justice, but also some of the alleged break and enters...

Is that artwork just close-up photos of various flowers? That's horrible... it looks like a mid-90s Harveys restaurant meets a seniors' home.
