IIRC it is only @ Underground Parking Level 01 at the moment. There is another parking level to go.

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

Why did they build the hwy 7 one first before the yonge expansion? the yonge has more traffic and more riders. I would just think that they could influence increases in ridership that way...

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

I meant the octranspo bus network in relation to viva's bus network

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

It's still a suburban town and it will always have to fight the use of vehicles. Once the economy dips, you'll see a lot less people leasing 3-series or C-class and taking the bus. As for the viva station on warden, that one gets used quite a bit during business hours. There are some...

    Toronto Toronto | Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

That's permeable paving with silva cells beneath so seeping into groundwater and flowing into the lake that we drink from is exactly what's going to happen.

York Region Transit: Viva service thread

The tree's along Yonge St., North of 16th Avenue have all been taken down.

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

I ride viva on weekends on the Yonge/blue line and it's really really packed. It's one of those 'if you build it, they will come' scenarios. Sooner or later some people are going to realize that taking the bus on hwy 7 is no longer slower than driving.

their renderings show that there will be a rapid transit stop @ harding. is there any validity to that or is that just some bs? the current viva stop is @ weldrick.

the major mac development was rejected by the town several days ago. not in line with the vision of the yonge weldrick precinct plan edit: should have read the post. the density value is too high. they only need one tower to be honest. everything in the area is mid rise anyways.

New rules could limit Building Heights

I don't want to go off topic with a sustainability thread, so I'll try to keep on topic as best as I can. Let's take a look at residential, multi-unit construction for the reason that it is the single most prevalent form of new construction within the downtown core. An immediate effect...

New rules could limit Building Heights

As a future architect, I want to voice that tall buildings can only be developed without sustainability in mind. Their impact on the greater environment is vast. The increased density, increased energy consumption and floor space redundancy due to structural requirements makes them energy hogs...

Solar Panels on Skyscrapers in Toronto?

15% in germany.. Applications here have only reached a highest operational efficiency of 12% via the North House Project. PV isn't as effective in Northern Climates as Solar Thermal.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I'm under the impression that they don't need to maintain it, just replace it. Concrete is more expensive than wood, naturally, and concrete is typically used for high speed rail infrastructure which we do not intend to have.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I live downtown adjacent to the Go Transit system and they've been shooting piles into the ground during the night. Since I'm renting, I don't think I was notified by the community board. I think this construction has to do with the Don Railyard, a component of the Union Station Renewal program...

That's bloody brilliant... So they turned the surface cladding of what seemed to be R3-4 into an R2 We need more radiators in this city to form heat islands so I can get a tan off of my balcony

Hi guys I'm not sure if this is a repost but please don't blame me if I don't want to read in excess of 100 pages of thread lol Does anyone have a building section and a profile for the new cladding? I'd like to know if there is a thermal performance gain. Correct me if I'm wrong but is it...

Toronto Toronto | Sherbourne Common, Canada's Sugar Beach, and the Water's Edge Promenade | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto | Teeple Architects

I appreciate that the city decided it would need more paved space to dump snow during 6 months of the year. I really wish they had designed the pathway system and streetscape to incorporate vendors and services. More to come I guess....
