I bet the developers of Aura must be real pissed that the lights aren't on in time for the games... I mean talk about product placement.

It's pretty mind boggling how this was not prioritized when the city is hosting the largest sporting event in its history.

What a missed opportunity...

I asked Aura via twitter when the lights are scheduled to come on, and here's what they wrote:

Dude it was a joke... lighten up. No need to be calling people ignorant as you'll notice there are a lot of people asking about the light feature on this forum.

I have a bad feeling that the light feature will suffer the same fate as the Trump Tower. Hopefully someone on here can shed some "light" on the situation. (couldn't help myself)

I know this has been asked a million times (so my apologies if I've missed anything in the thread of late) but any clue about when the lights will be back on? The only time they were lit up was when I was out of town and I feel cheated!

Aura could have been elegant had it been sleek all the way down like it is on the top portion. Unfortunate, but once the lights turn on it will give us something to smile about.

I completely agree that this city needs to preserve its architectural history, but I think we could have gone bigger and bolder in this instance. Think Waterloo and Kings Cross station in London. These are fine examples of preserving the past while incorporating modern design. Even Melbourne's...

Totally agree! It'd be a shame to see the top of Aura dark on such an occasion that celebrates light.

It's a shame that the Penthouse doesn't make use of the crown for any type of western facing terrace. For all that money, I'd expect some outdoor space like at the Shangri-La or Ritz PH.
