Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

LRT would have been a wonderful solution along Sheppard and Finch East. I think it could have worked really well had it been implemented when originally theorized in Transit City nearly 20 years ago. But that time has passed. In the future Line 4 will connect 4 Rapid transit lines and will be a...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

It would be cool to see a single SRT car in the mezzanine of the new Scarborough Centre station once it's built. Whether it be affixed to a wall, hanging over an open air section, etc. There are so many ways to memorialize parts of our past using artistic interpretation building it into our...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

The UPX will be rolled into GO RER eventually. Weston is a dense 200 year old community in a Subway desert. I always find the argument that somehow this location isn't worthy of a stop strange considering how little time it adds to the trip.and that future electrification will reduce this...

    Toronto Toronto | St Clair-Old Weston GO Station | 9.13m | 1s | City of Toronto | Hatch

They could always elevate the streetcar over Old Weston, the rail corridor and Keele/Weston. Add no trackage to the streetcar route. Reduce pedestrian conflicts. Not crazy expensive. It could be our little Broadway Junction.

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Oh, my apologies. I thought the Subway's purpose was to provide high order LOCAL transit in the City of Toronto. How can a station such as Cummer not meet this criteria? Losing stations like Cummer, I think the City should press the province to create firm boundaries on the area the subway is...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'm sorry? Do the regions around Toronto contribute to the TTC subways operations, capital projects such as Signal Upgrades, station upgrades, fleet etc., which directly enable these extensions to suburbia? Or are we supposed to bite the bullet like we already do maintaining highways mainly...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I think we forget this is the Toronto Subway, plans for Cummer station have existed for decades. If any cost cutting measures are to be taken, surely it would be north of Steeles.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

You know, as much as York Region was undeserving of a subway extension, they paid their part. And after going up there to see the going ons it seems like they also have political will to change the built form around these new transit investments which should bode well for future ridership...

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The objective should be getting more people on Transit. If that means 25,000 boardings at Bloor-Lansdowne slowing down the trip of 2,500 boardings at Waterfront Allandale, so be it. Although IIRC electrification leaves travel times unchanged for the most part with added stations.

Ah, this makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

I’m not sure if I understand the point he is trying to make here.

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

I wonder if any provisions will be made for the once planned Bremner streetcar. Or maybe that ship has sailed already.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Ah, I remember very dismissive statements out of the Miller camp regarding the DRL. I specifically remember that Miller made a point to say that the new streetcars were the capacity equivalent of a new subway line downtown. Miller made it abundantly clear a new subway downtown wasn't his...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

The more I think about it, the more I seem to agree. IMHO, Sheppard should dip south of the 401 for a connection to Scarborough Centre on Line 2. I thought a connection at Sheppard and McCowan would suffice but the more I think about it I find the contrary to be true. Firstly, because of...

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I think a station here on yer Barrie line might be more desirable than people think. Connecting Woodbridge with Corso Italia. Surely a popular stop in the festival season. But I get the vibe the city would have to pick up the tab.

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Would be a good location for a station, I just hope they don't have to knock my house down to do it. Eek.

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It was initially part of the Davenport diamond project but was shelved early on, then the station at Bloor was also delayed/shelved. Metrolinx then moved Earlscourt Station it to their 2035 plan.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

People in Scarborough don't typically use GO. There's no culture of driving to GO stations in Scarborough. This is not Brampton. So once you're on the TTC you might as well remain in the system, unless you wanna more than double your fare. Also, most people who use transit in Scarborough are not...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Apologies, I don't think you read my response in it's entirety. North York has absorbed the majority of all expansive transit funding in the last 5 decades. Saying Scarborough kicked and screamed and got what's undeserved lacks historical context. Scarborough deserves an equal opportunity to...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I think people are offended because you're equating Scarborough to Brampton or Mississauga, alluding that Scarborough is not deserving of transit as expansive as North York. Transit ridership in Scarborough far exceeds that of Mississauga regardless of population, by a wide margin. The 116...
