TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

Cummins is already introducing the X10 and hybrid version for EPA 2027. NFI will be testing this out before full rollout. The report speaks to Nova and NFI , yes. But the information I have is way more recent than the report.

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

TTC just got New flyer hybrid artic's within the last year. I would assume, if Nova leaves the hybrid market and no 60ft ebus in sight, then new flyer will be the sole provider. NFI has both ebus articulated and hybrid articulated. Only downfall is, I'm sure New Flyer will milk TTC when the time...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

The same company that provided us trolley buses are the same company making our current ebuses. Same company will also continue to make diesel and hybrid buses for the foreseeable future . That company is called New flyer, Formally called Flyer. So if Nova wants out if the bus market, Newflyer...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

New Flyer just delivered the new ebus 6000 to Arrow garage on Friday. Now this will be a real test to see a larger electric bus fleet and how TTC operates them. The current 60 ebuses are barely in service , for a variety of reasons. I believe that alone will be an indication of 400 buses coming...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

9 SRT cars is excessive. Just persevere two or a pair and call it a day. I don't see why two 8000s are being saved, are they really that significant? I would rather a GM in the maroon cream colours than an Orion bus. Is there a bus museum in Canada? I know there's a bunch of rail equipment...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

So who's on the list, if Josh Colle is not on it. And me saying Josh Colle will be the next CEO, I was just kidding.

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

Got word that the new electric buses should be here in a couple weeks. Numbered 6000 And the Nova electrics will be here in January 2025. Based on the earlier conversation about Nova and their existence, it will be interesting to see this order fulfilled.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

So based on a comment I saw on Steve Munro regarding Josh Colle. Rumor is, Rick Leary is working on an exit strategy. Which will have him leave earlier than the planned 2026 when is contract expires. I would assume Jamaal and Chow is fully aware of this, and is already looking for a...

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

I heard rumours that not only is Nova getting away from diesel buses , but Volvo who owns Nova wants to eventually get rid of Nova altogether. Now, how true that rumour is , I don’t know. Another factor is Trump getting back into the White House and severely crippling EPA and not funding many...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Continuing with discussion about Line 2 replacements, when is the deadline for TTC to place orders with the current RFP? I thought it was Q2 2024? At that point I believe TTC will have to issue another RFP?

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

Im willing to bet that Nova won't go under. If I remember correctly, Newflyer had a similar issue in the mid 1980s were the province of Mainitoba bought Newflyer for a good chunk of shares or bought them outright until another company came in to buy it. I expect the same to happen with Nova and...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Im sure if were to be about Leary, they wouldn't wait till Dec 20th. Last meeting about Leary, the special meeting happened within days if not hours. I believe Leary will safe for the remainder of the year. And if he does indeed get through the budget process , they might as well keep him...

But a special meeting? Wouldn't it be just a regular meeting? ***Sorry for the double post

    I didn't even notice that.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Amid probe of TTC CEO's conduct, officials call for a better complaints process At today's board meeting, it looked as if Jamaal and Leary only talked when Leary initiated the conversation. It's definitely still tense between the two.

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

Lesile was torn down in 2001. I brought up Lesile because for all we know, Doug wants to extend the Gardiner. But I highly doubt that. The point I was trying to make was, I doubt Ford will make any changes to the already voted on hybrid option by the city. It will cost more than it's worth...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

I'd assume the province will respect the hybrid option. It's not like there much options, considering Lesile off ramps is now Lesile barns. And Logan is no longer an option. Province will probably have to waste more money to go with an option other than what the city of Toronto voted on. Chow...

    miWay Transit

Eve Wiggins new head of Miway She's also a former TTC manager. Also, so much for Rick Leary going to Miway....

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

He wasn't head of MBTA, in York region he was in charge. So he moved up in position from MBTA To YRT. If anything, he stepped down coming to TTC, I believe as COO in 2014, and eventually became CEO 4 years later. But it's an interesting point you made.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

If the position is tailor made, with the potential of being CEO, the low salary is is not a big deal. They'll eventually, probably guaranteed, to get the big job. I'd rather they just outright replace the CEO. I've heard this idea before, change the position to General Manager, with the reduced...
