Good to know. I haven't been to a game since maybe the late 90s/early 2000s.

It would be nice if they could find a way to bring it over to McMahon. Perhaps it can be suspended like that giant speaker they have there now.

I honestly just prefer the Before.

    Calgary | The Hive | 27m | 9s | Jemm Properties | LOLA

I didn't really notice it before, but it's nice how they staggered the balconies, increasing the amount of people who have views towards downtown and the river.

Well I guess the good news is that there's not much to walk to. The place is pretty much an island.

    Calgary | Riverview West 4th Avenue | 78.5m | 24s | Trico Homes | S2

It's been almost two decades now, but another Arriva would still look better than most condos that are being built today.

Looks like the position has opened up. 😢 https://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/ol-beautiful-brewery-taproom-damaged-overnight-fire

Yes, I'm talking about the area above floor 1. Looks like a great spot for a "rooftop" patio.

The setback here is quite a bit further than I imagined it would be. Is there going to be some sort of patio space there? That would be a great spot.

Agreed, something like the Ol' Beautiful patio there would be perfect. Keep it a casual family-friendly beer garden in the summer, and perhaps it could even work in the winter with the right heating setup.

    Calgary | Park Central | 134m | 39s | Hines | S.C.B.

This development is not ritzy enough to be Central Park adjacent (and for that you also need a doorman!), but honestly it's not something that would look too out of place in many parts of Midtown Manhattan

    A CPS pop-up shop.

If anyone actually wants to write this, I can help with the design (designing books/magazines is part of what I do).

    Calgary | Unbuilt Projects

I remember getting that book out of the library in the late 90s (ye olde Skyscraperpage days), and even then it felt like a blast from the past. But what a find that was! Back then you typically had to rifle through physical copies of old 70s/80s magazines (Alberta Report I think?) and...

I'm sure most of those jerseys are still within the 14 day return period.

That’s "Forever A Flame" material right there.

There's definitely a little extra pep in my step this morning. Screw Shellbyville and the most obnoxious fanbase in the NHL. Canada's team my ass. They deserve nothing.

    Calgary | Uxborough Phase 1 | 45m | 14s | Western Securities | Gibbs Gage

I used to live right by Deerfoot and 64th Ave...so had Deerfoot, the airport, and the train tracks out our window. It was loud at first, but after a few months I didn't even notice they were there. I imagine random noises like an ambulance are a bit tougher than repetitive noises, but your brain...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Maybe it was Covid/WFH's fault, or maybe it was the economic downturn's fault... but it seems like it wasn't a viable operation anymore when it was open to everyone. Probably why it needs fancy-pants rates now to make it work.
