Shadow study shows a decently tall building on the future development site haha

Finally, event level. The community rink dressing rooms look very small. That's probably the only part of this level I'll see.

I appreciate the different food options and that the saddledome malt is sticking around.

Are those supposed to be solar panels on the roof?
Yes they are. Included a hotel massing as well.

I like that it is quite dynamic and the actual size of the building feels reduced by breaking up the massing. Also does not at all look like the original proposal. Big win IMO.

What is the reason behind the AHL and WHL having different fitness centre as the NHL? Status? I feel like they could save some space by making one space that is 1.5 times the NHL one and just scheduling times in the space.

I'm saying this knowing it isn't a huge thing, just honestly curious as it seems space is at premium in the building.

just scheduling times
This is likely much more difficult than we think.

It is crazy that I'm paying for that event level buildout though... I know they're paying back some of the money via lease but still. Can I signup to come use the Fitness and Sauna facilities in the offseason? I guess I should remember someone in Grande Prairie's income taxes also went to this so thank you to the almighty Murray for the honour to even breathe the same air as a billionaire.

I hope they install a webcam to watch the progress like they did with the BMO Center.

Is it me, or does the AHL change room appear bigger than the NHL one? I also can’t find the NHL visitors change room. There is no denying that athletes these days are spoiled rotten. Look at all the amenities and facilities they get with the help of taxpayer dollars. There is even a “kick around” room for them to play soccer.

Overall I’m pleased with the arena. I’m not blown away but it is a huge improvement from the first design. I still think the exterior is a bit too busy and bunker looking (needs way more glass). Would love to see more detailed interior renderings (seating bowl, suites, etc).

Very much love this design, streetscape is scaled, materials are tasteful and appropriate. Modern, but timeless.

Looks like the WHL and AHL share one, that's a reasonable idea. No chance 3 teams could share one, all will be using them at approx. same times

yea there is no way that will fly for the NHL space. The AHL/WHL spaces are shared. Although I think that could've been done offsite as an expansion to the Flames Community Arena or somewhere else. Especially since those teams are prone to relocation. The Leafs did that to expand an arena to become their official practice space.
