It makes a lot of sense to densify this part of town, especially with the King streetcar transit corridor right there. And the project doesn't involve any heritage buildings, unlike a lot of King Street proper.

Can we please just move Jesse Ketchum park already? Or put big lights on it?

What would the purpose be of a underground connection? The North Building won't operate as a market except on weekends, correct? And is it that much of a burden to cross the street?

We could just surround the playground with sun lamps.

And Berczy Park is two block away.

The Brunny reno was indeed less extensive, but it was similar in that it did a great job of retaining the heritage aspects of the building.

Agreed. Not that I'm complaining, but does anyone have any insight into why Shoppers has gone so far above and beyond for this one? (It reminds me a bit of project of another pharmacy chain, the reworking of the Brunswick House by Rexall -- also quite a respectful repurposing of that building.)

It also seems a shame that, being right across from such a landmark Ryerson building, something special couldn't have been built to make Gould an obvious gateway to Ryerson.

Would folks be as upset with the design if the project were named something else, such as "Banal Commercial Building"? While I really want to see great design on the waterfront, I'm not sure why this particular building has become such a lightning rod, other than having a name that seems so out...

When I see this I am always shocked at how clunky this addition is, and how it completely ignores the context of the building behind and above it.

This intersection is going to be ridiculously tall when this and YSL join Aura.

The density at this intersection is increasing so incredibly rapidly -- three major projects going up at nearly the same time.

The use of an early poured slab for staging seems like a relatively new technique in the city -- any projects use this prior to the past couple of years?
