There is 0% chance that if Chow had been elected that she would have done nothing for 4 years. You might not agree with the things she would have done, but it would not have been nothing.

In a 47 ward scenario, Vuong had done the work and had a good chance. In the new 25 ward model, he's up against a strong incumbent in Cressy and has twice as many doors to knock on. I wouldn't give him a better than 20% chance.

In Ward 1, I would probably vote for Naiima Farah, but would wait for a poll to show who had the best chance that was not Ford or Crusty Crisanti.

In Ward 1 if I lived there I'd vote for Naiima Farah. Long shot, I know, but she seems like a good person, and qualified.

I'm not dismissing your opinion based on your gender and ethnicity, I'm dismissing your opinion because it's dumb, and because you so clearly lack the lived experience of being anything other than a white male, or even some empathy for anyone who is not like yourself.

If you were planning to volunteer for Ana Bailao to keep out the awful Cesar Palacio, you don't have to worry anymore as Cesar has withdrawn. If you want to make a difference now you can volunteer for Shelley Carroll who is facing a tough battle against a friend of the recently elected PC MPP.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

In the 1990 provincial election that unexpectedly brought the NDP to power, lots of oddball characters were elected as NDP MPPs. The move by Ford will have the opposite effect. Only the most entrenched incumbents will be able to win in a 25 seat race. We were all set to get some fresh faces on council when this happened.

Shiner is in trouble. I was talking to a few neighbours last weekend, and they all voted for him in the past, but never see him around anymore. They will not be voting for him this time. Dan Fox is running again and appears to have a strong organization out of the gate. Nobody had ever heard of...

Dan Fox has registered to run against David Shiner again. As far as I know Fox has not held a political office before, and has no family connections to any other politicians.
