The university has done a great job with u/d and also there’s nothing remotely urban in the NW except for Kensington and a couple other places down near the river like Bowness or 19th St.

My main criticism is they didn’t make the brick section one floor higher to add some articulation to the roofline.

The elephant in the room is the CFL. While overall attendance for the league has been up slightly of late, it has dropped over the years and I feel like there’s no will to spend $400 mil on a stadium when people aren’t certain about the league’s future.

I think it’s turned out well, and could be even better once the street level brickwork is done.

Apparently, it’s the data centre hub of Alberta at least, as the article mentions 12 data centres in Calgary and 9 in Edmonton.

I’m too lazy to do the numbers but I bet Calgary is tops in terms of housing starts/per capita for the big 6 metros.

I hope they have a rooftop deck on this building, that mash isn’t great for the views of people living inside the building. I will say that the mesh does add an interesting factor to the building.

According to the database it’s 202. To me that seems kind of low, considering it’s 2 x 15 storey towers.

One of the reasons the U/D ones are going up so quickly is because it’s a greenfield site, even though it’s not traditional greenfield. Also demand is strong for that location.

Nice to see those trees on top on Concord are still going.

IMO it's kind of a tie between this and August as to which one is the best so far in U/D, but this one certainly has turned out great.

I'm really enjoying the updates for U/D. It's cool to see a master plan like this come to fruition, and over such a short time.
