    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

It's ridiculous that a province like Ontario won't make amendments to the HTA to allow different traffic signals to be easily added by municipalities with Ministerial approval like community plans. Even tiny little Manitoba allows white line transit signals.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I'm just pointing out that many of the projects you are solely attributing to Ford are the result of work done under the Wynne government and funding from other levels of government. 40% is definitely far more that 33% when you start adding up the funding over multiple projects. Do I think the...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

The standard funding method for projects has been 40% funded by the Federal government, and this is the case with line 1 and 2 extensions and Crosstown West. Here’s a link by Mass Transit

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

You're right, Ford should definitely get a participation trophy for spending money. The Feds are responsible for probably 40% of that.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'm really starting to think a light elevated metro line from Kipling to Square one following most of Milton rail corridor is a better solution.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

This is just silly, comparing LRT speeds vs road speed limits. The average vehicle speed would be much lower and have far more conflicts than an LRT vehicle would.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Right, that’s what Calgary and Edmonton are doing LRT. How LRT is implemented has a lot to do with service capacity, but finch LRT will potentially be far more reliable than bus.

    Montréal Transit Developments

There is a long ROW along Victoria St that used to be a rail line. I presume this is what they are referring to.

I’d say option 2 and 6 are the most compelling.

Wow, green line extension actually one of the options

And with higher voltages you can have smaller onboard equipment. You see this in electric vehicle platforms, companies switching to 800V architectures.

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

TTC wayfinding, naming convention, etc could definitely use cleaning up but it’s really not bad at all. Having lived in Vancouver and then visiting Toronto I didn’t struggle to adapt quickly.

Yeah, I’m not doing anything with this ridiculous thread. Do not tag me in any further discussion

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I’m assuming this bothers you soo much because you buy into the narrative that white people have no historical responsibility to acknowledge that white people continue to benefit at the expense of indigenous peoples.
  16. asher__jo

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Or maybe it’s a first incredibly small step to acknowledging that we took indigenous peoples lands. It’s the bare minimum, but it’s something.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Completion and inservice dates seem to be thrown around in media with no understanding of what that means.
  18. asher__jo

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Definitely. Making line 4 into more of an express line would do wonders to take traffic off the 401 for commuting. I think long term the best solution is to use different rolling stock that’s lighter to make elevated more viable. Whether they regauge or order custom width trains is the question.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

When we talk about Metrolinx’ incompetence the micromanagement directly from the Premiers office (before it was just the Transportation Minister that allowed relative autonomy), we need to be directing the blame where it belongs. It’s truly sad how intent the PC’s are at demonstrating the...
