Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

I think branching the western extension is a good idea. Everyone worried about headways being impacted should take a look at Skytrain in Vancouver. Ontario Line will also have platform screen doors so it is even more delay-proof than Skytrain.

Tangent but Toronto looks so much better sideways.

    Calgary | Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

Here in Toronto - we are about to open a 2.5 billion dollar LRT that will be slower than the bus it replaces. Lesson here: do whatever you can to advocate that as many grade crossings are removed as possible and each grade crossing has FULL signal priority, otherwise you would have been...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I entirely suspect the TTC has applied the exact same operating standards from the streetcar system onto Line 6 and the grade sections of Line 5 I actually drove Finch from Finch West to hwy 400 last night and the one LRV I did see waited about 5 whole seconds after the transit signal turned...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Apropos of nothing, we should be doing everything in our power to make sure Line 7 EELRT never sees the light of day. I'd even say scrap the WELRT at this point. Put the money that would go into those two projects into grade separated projects only. The TTC and Transportation Services Toronto...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Dundas/Sherbourne makes Jane/Finch feel like Rosedale these days. Jane and Finch is relatively tame

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Pretty standard headways for North American LRT. Calgary and Edmonton are 10-15 minutes.

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

It should head west with a station at the Downsview hangar district at the bare minimum. I’m surprised Hines isn’t pushing this in talks with the city/province. Maybe they are.

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

Only thing I would add is a more ambitious Line 4 western extension to Pearson

    TTC: Easier Access Phase III

Sorry but MX's wayfinding standard is objectively better both from usability and aesthetic sensibility. The TTC's wayfinding looks like a sloppy and amateurish take on MTA/CTA standards. Does not evoke the feeling of a serious and modern transit system at all and should be tossed into the...

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

Infrastructure Ontario had originally planned the Ontario Line to be a loop where west and east branches meet on a Hwy 407 alignment. I guess we will have to wait to see Metrolinx's full 2051 plan.

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

Very odd that there are zero Ontario Line extensions being studied out to 2051???

    Toronto Queen's Park North Revitalization

Holy woke Batman. Cool how institutions preach racial hierarchies in Canada now and everyone acts like it’s normal. Great job all around. Making a priestly caste out of 5% of the population is not going to have any disastrous effects on long term equality I'm sure. All that to say, I am very...

    Toronto Toronto | Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

I think The James has probably the best detailing on a new facade this city has seen in a long time but this building is certainly up there.

    Toronto Toronto | Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

They are moving forward with station construction anyways so I am guessing that the project design has been somewhat updated because of the setback under the 401. I believe the original project staging was that most tunneling would be complete before stations even broke ground (line 5 style)...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The O Train is a big disappointment but at least it opened and the extensions are being built pretty fast.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I think its going to be a fine transit line. Yes a Line 1,2,4 technology subway or Line 3 technology light metro would have been much more suited for this alignment but it is what it is. I think we should all move on and put our energy into making sure a metro-sized service is never again...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The speed this is moving at compared to Line 5 and SSE is incredible. Knock on wood they can keep this pace!

It still looks better than 95% of the slop around Yonge + Eg in my opinion
