Article: Daniels Corporation Building Paintbox Condos and Regent Park Arts & Cultural

this is looking better than most of the bland, overpriced condos going up near the financial district. Glad to see my old neighborhood being revitalized!!!

Article: The Spadina Subway Extension: Vaughan Centre Station

Out of all the designs, this seems the most bland (in terms of public art and colour)...especially at the platform level. Prepare to see a lot of brutalist grey concrete once its complete. The Egg shaped dome is pretty nice but the rest of it is just 'meh". In terms of extending the subway...

Steeles West Station on the Spadina Subway Extension Rethought

So far I am impressed with the designs for these new stations, however what really bothers me is the unfinished concrete walls on the platform level. I hope these stations dont start looking like the stations on the Sheppard line which have those awful unfinished exposed concrete walls...

Symmetry Developments Brings The Hive Lofts to The Queensway

Beautiful Condo... This will really compliment the existing Loggia Condos (a few blocks west of this site at Islington ) and perhaps encourage more developments of this sort along the Queensway.

Our First View of the U of T's Robarts Library Expansion

Although brutalism in general is not very appealing , I find the monolithic nature of Robarts to be kind of endearing and iconic. The building may look like some sort of jail, but it has its merits. The proposed addition totally clashes with the existing building and looks too busy.

Photo Of The Day: Trump Tower Toronto Starts To Make Its Presence Felt

The building itself is kind of a "meh"....Though I do quite like that deep emerald green glass. It'll be a good contrast to the ruby-red scotiabank building.

Daniel's Regent Park Redevelopment Sets Its Eyes On Peter Dickinson

I absolutely love the interior layout of these buildings. The units are a great size (luxurious, compared to what you find today) and the extension from one side to the other gives them an airy quality. I used to spend so much time here. I'm sure if they refurbish the interiors and market the...

Daniel's Regent Park Redevelopment Sets Its Eyes On Peter Dickinson

As a former resident of Regent Park, I have mixed feelings about the demolition of these buildings. In one sense, I really liked the layout of the units(especially the two level apartments). Despite all the brick and concrete on the exterior, there was an airy quality to some of the units. I...

    Toronto Toronto | Vü Condos | 83.51m | 24s | Aspen Ridge | Hariri Pontarini

I completely agree with you on that one. I think that weird basement-looking entrance with that utilitarian gray column totally disorients the building. I dont mind the brick man, but I almost find it too heavy for that location which has a lot of brick looming over it. Though the building...

    Toronto Toronto | 361 The West Mall | 60.35m | 19s | Turner Fleischer

Yeah I agree. It really is a very bland and manicured site with nothing much to offer. I always thought the two existing buildings were such a waste of space, but I am glad they decided to keep them. One thing I hope they do differently is wrap the proposed podium around those existing buildings...

    Toronto Toronto | 361 The West Mall | 60.35m | 19s | Turner Fleischer

Etobicoke Infill Development: The West Mall and Eva Road I came across this recent proposal for residential high density infill at the intersection of The West Mall and Eva Road. The site is adjacent to the Tridel West Village Site. Currently there are two existing apartment buildings..perhaps...

    Emery Village

I am doing case study on Emery Village as part of my masters paper, so I've done a bit of research on this area already. Although the development at Weston and Finch fell through,I think that area is still slated for mixed use development in the future. I don't know how that will materialize...
