    Toronto Toronto | Pacific Residences | 28.3m | 8s | Old Stonehenge | Core Architects

New pic from today, taken from the southwest corner. Really looking forward to this construction being done so the righthand lane (where the fire hydrant is) stops being a foot underwater anytime it rains. I saw a poor pedestrian get completely soaked today at the bus stop under the scaffolding.

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

2 year anniversary of it being closed for "approximately one year." Cannot wait to be able to walk the full length again! I took this photo yesterday from the steps on the Wallace bridge, those stamped letters must have been added in the last week or so:

Windows and other openings are boarded up now...

Oh I do. And they're marked as completed or closed (though I can't see which in the email). I will file some new requests though because that last one has been there since May!

Is anyone else frustrated by the steady increase in abandoned construction materials and signage on sidewalks and curbs? There are the obvious ones where the date of a detour on the sign has long passed, but then other places where there are just traffic cones being stored on the sidewalk with...

    The Junction

PB Tasty was "coming soon" for so long, but after 3 years, looks like the jig is up and their lease has been terminated as of this month. I have no retail experience but how exactly does this work? Valuable real estate but no actual business for 3 years? And it was an eyesore...wasted potential.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It's dog or human shit (this is on the sidewalk BTW). I've filed so many 311 reports but it never abates. There's also an epidemic of sidewalk cycling & vehicles on the sidewalk which I guess only enforcement would help, but IMO they should do away with on street parking entirely (like between...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Desperately needed. I can't wait to fill out the survey; I walk or cycle this corridor every day and it looks and smells like shit :(

About 3 years ago, they replaced the hydro poles along the lower portion of the east sidewalk of Keele, just north of Bloor. I'm not sure who approved the completed work as it left huge sinking pits on the sidewalk, so in addition to the new hydro poles leaving even less room (less than 1 metre...

I saw bins like these in Ann Arbor years ago and marvelled at how well designed and tidy they seemed. I wonder why Toronto didn't copy/keep the raccoon design! Now, we just need staff to regularly come by and empty the bins to complete the loop. There have been so many overflowing and never...

Say it ain't so! I wonder if, over the next year, they can carve out some time to touch up the blue-green gradient mural? Now that the greenery has died (or maybe been trimmed back?) there's a big blank space. I'm talking about this one:

I noticed the signage at the sealed off entrance at Bloor has been changed, instead of "closed in November 2022 for approximately one year" now it just says "entrance closed." Anyone have an update as to when we're getting the full Railpath back??

    Roncesvalles

Found is a great, high quality cafe but this new location is sadly lacking in seating, compared to their other two (Kensington & Bellwoods). There is a high top counter with four chairs inside, and two bistro tables with four chairs outside, although I found sitting facing the noise of Dundas W...

    High Park

I actually interacted with a very rarely seen zookeeper just last week when the capys were being fed and she confirmed that they are indeed the same Bonnie & Clyde!

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

A new/another part of the Railpath is closed now. No dates on the work order so hopefully this is very temporary. Also no updates on the city project page about the "about a year" closure of the lower part by the UP. Sad to lose a favourite continuous multi use path. Is it related to the other...

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

Walked by today and saw this signage and still says spring 2025.

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

Wow the original location looks insanely spacious! Not the case at the new one on Dundas and Humbercrest, sadly. I tried to time my two visits with off-peak times during the day and it was very cramped. I was quite literally always in someone's way and found it very hard to navigate comfortably...

    Junction Triangle

The barricades splitting Bloor by Perth are coming down on Friday. Traffic light pictured a few posts back is being activated on Tuesday. Looking forward to using the Railpath to continue south sometime soon...they are a few months behind schedule to reopening the Railpath.

Seen today by the Wallace bridge. Not my tag, but I certainly share the sentiment. A year and four months now that the railpath has been bifurcated/closed:

Farm Boy expansion in the GTA

That segment of Dupont is also so hostile to pedestrians. I inquired with 311 about ~5 months ago as to when the traffic light in front of Farm Boy would be activated and no response yet. Really unpleasant to jaywalk around there!
