    Edmonton | Riley's 108 Street Redevelopment | 20.2m | 6s | J+S Architect

I actually like this project too. I mean, it's all in the execution of course, but I'm hopeful

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

CP ain’t moving from downtown Calgary. That’s a non-starter, I can guarantee you. Nenshi is just being realistic there. Railways are very powerful in Canada and there is very little anyone can do to force them to do things they don’t want to. Personally I think that’s crazy and wrong, but it is...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

The mess in Calgary can be partially blamed on lots of different people/entities. But the cancellation is square on the UCP.... there would have been a better option. $2.1b down the drain for absolutely nothing is just a travesty. And whatever route 'Frat Boy Dreeshen' dreams up will not go...

    Downtown Real Estate

My colleagues lives in Chapelle and his commute to downtown is now 1.5h, it's crazy. Personally I think it was painfully obvious this would eventually happen when he first bought at the edge of the city, but somehow he's surprised now haha! Of course it's somehow the city's fault now...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I'm also not feeling too pessimistic about this. The fact that the major pieces (bridges and guideways) are largely done and seem to have been built without any major deficiencies - at least that we know of so far - is a positive for me.

In some ways, the principle is the same. But think much, much higher quality of food and atmosphere, plus booze ;-)

Touch the Water Promenade / River Valley "Seawall"

whoever comes up with a realistic plan for this part of the city has my vote next election.

Trust me, you wouldn't feel this way if you go to a market like the Time Out Market in Lisbon: https://www.timeoutmarket.com/lisboa/en/ The food is affordable and some of the stalls are run by Michelin Star chefs. We ate there multiple times, with kids in tow, and it was cheaper than a...

Touch the Water Promenade / River Valley "Seawall"

this wouldn't be an issue if we hadn't killed the privately funded gondola project. That still gets me. I understand the burial ground piece, but I feel like we threw the baby out with the bathwater. As it is, no one wins.

Touch the Water Promenade / River Valley "Seawall"

It doesn't add to the vibrancy of the neighbourhood because decade after decade we refuse to turn this area into anything remotely interesting. This would be the prime place to celebrate the history of the area; it's the crossroads of Indigenous and traders/settlers and could have an incredibly...

Touch the Water Promenade / River Valley "Seawall"

Oh lord. If we don’t see the value in the unique and amazing structure, we are truly lost as a city. I will chain myself to that building before the tear it down. Mind you with the ongoing neglect, it may just fall down on its own

yeah we only stopped in to grab the temaki and then bought the rest of the sushi elsewhere, lol

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but it seems Furusato has closed. I'm not shocked since they did virtually nothing to promote the place and it always looked closed from the outside, but I will greatly miss their spicy tuna temaki. The best in the city, they were.

Oliver and 124st - Infill Thread

I guess it depends on what you mean by infrastructure. Within a five minute walk we have a pool, skating rink, about 10 playgrounds, soccer fields, multiple mature city parks, 3 bus lines going downtown and LRT under construction, etc., which is not something you will find in the 'burbs. Most of...

Oliver and 124st - Infill Thread

We live just up the street and we bought our four square six years ago for $420k. And the house next door to this listing sold just a couple of months ago and was listed at $499k, and it was pretty much identical to this one. They are old houses and there is more maintenance but you don’t need...

It’s actually on par with the neighbourhood (I live a block from here). It always amazes me that people overlook these classic beauties and instead buy some suburban box for the same or a higher price. To each their own I guess

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I would love to see a name like the 'Wop May Edmonton International Airport' or something. But some like it beiger than beige. 'Edmonton International Airport' it will be for a long time....zzzzz.......

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I just drove through Blatchford this weekend to pick up some cold ones from the Growlery.... really impressed with how this is coming along. If I wasn't happily housed in Westmount already, I would be eyeing this place up for sure. You can see the potential and with the amount of construction...
