This could make for a very cool observation deck. Roughly this as the view:

    Edmonton | The Mercury Block | 21.7m | 6s

Absolutely. It's good, human-scaled density. But it's not architectural excellence like some are suggesting, that's all.

    Edmonton | The Mercury Block | 21.7m | 6s

Yeah, it’s very ok. I’m not mad Mercury Block exists as it’s adding good density, getting rid of a parking lot, and has a cool courtyard that’ll hopefully continue the magic of Oliver Exchange. But people are acting like this development is much greater than it truly is. So there’s a cool red...

    Edmonton | Stantec Tower | 250.84m | 66s | ICE District Prop.

So what is the plan for the space? It's just lying waste right now.

    LRT Expansion Planning

The best metro systems in the world have a bit of redundancy built into them because, realistically, most cities are not just one linear stretch where everything of note is a stone’s throw from one street. I think having a line go down West Jasper, up 124th, then 127th, to 137 Ave, then over...

Do you mean Nashville? Atlanta is a cultural centre, but it's not the place for country in the same way that Nashville is. Much bigger for African American culture (including rap), film & tv production, etc.

Is it meant to fully cover the balcony glass? If so, then it could make a nice accent punch. But if it's like how it is, with some panes untouched, other only half covered, that'd be weird.

    Edmonton | The Mercury Block | 21.7m | 6s

I think that the courtyard area is very beautifully designed but I'm not gonna lie the outside walls facing the street do look quite boring. I get this is Edmonton, where buildings like the Falcon Towers and Manchester Square have fans, but it's not exactly amazing architecture from the sides...

    Downtown Real Estate

Considering how prominent anything of decent height built that lot will be from the usual skyline vantage points (in much the same way as Telus Plaza, Chateau Lacombe, and Canada Place), I'd rather something that stands out more for that site, both in terms of height and design. But it's good...

    Downtown

103 St, 104 St, Ice District, Jasper, RHW would definitely be nicer. But with the park going in, hopefully that will spur more development on 105 too.

You could argue the same for many Eastern North American cities.

    LRT Expansion Planning

The US systems are a low-hanging fruit, too. Canadians often compare themselves to the US to make themselves feel better, when the reality is that in a lot of metrics, they're still in second-last place among developed countries, with the way things are here only being better compared to the...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Also if you're flying east-west, over long distances, the differences are marginal between someone going from Victoria to Ottawa via Edmonton vs Calgary.

The metro area populations are very similar, and Calgary's overall transit numbers are still much higher than ours. Yes, you can argue that each city's transit operates only within city limits (mostly), however there are many people in St Albert using ETS and connecting at Naki Transit Centre...

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

Calgary Transit's bus ridership is 199,000/day Q3 2023 (taking the total for Calgary Transit and subtracting C-Train ridership). ETS' bus ridership is 223,000/day Q3 2023 (similar to Calgary for calculating numbers). Yes it's higher but not significantly. They also have the start of an actual...

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

None of this has to do with what I critiqued about your post. But yes, their ridership is driven heavily by downtown employment and, yes, that is common knowledge.

What are you talking about? Brentwood, Bridgeland, Erlton, Banff Trail (sorta), Heritage, Fish Creek, Westbrook, Victoria Park, and Saddletowne all have varying levels of TOD. Edmonton has Century Park, Stadium, Clareview, and Holyrood (sorta). Soon SPR/142. That's half the amount Calgary has.
