Does anyone know how the appeal went?

Is retail traffic moving away from the +15 and onto popular streets?

I was in the +15 a couple of times last week and it was every bit as busy as it used to be before covid. It was on a Tuesday and Wednesday, and I've heard that Mondays and Fridays are usually slower.

    Calgary real estate market

I agree about the perception thing. Whenever I mentioned to people about moving to Alberta one of the first things people would say was ‘I hope you’re at least going to Calgary and not Edmonton’ I’ve only been up to Edmonton a couple of times, but it seems like a nice enough place and yet...

    Calgary | Argyle | 22m | 6s | Avi Urban | Gibbs Gage

I was initially disappointed with the loss of the brick, but it might be better with there being another building with beige brick a block away. It’s always nice to have a variety.

It's fine for me this afternoon, but yesterday was brutal.

I Don’t Regret Moving To Calgary From Toronto

I'm the same way. I love Toronto, and naturally there are things I miss, but I also like it here in Calgary. I have a good life here and like you, I am able to live in an inner city home, with a couple of kids. Work is a 10 minute drive, 15 minutes bus ride or a 20 minute bike ride. I would...

That's great news! did they give a timeline?

    Calgary's Downtown Dilemma

I wouldn't say it's a waste. @Calgcouver is right, we do need to spend money on improving the downtown environment, but it's all pointless if we aren't somehow adding people to the core. Even if we spend a couple hundred million on improvements, it's not going to attract people unless there are...

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

    My predictions Toronto 10.0M Montreal 5.0M Vancouver 4.1M Calgary 2.8M Edmonton 2.3M Ottawa 2.1M

    Calgary International Airport

It's not great news, but not necessarily bad new either. We still keep the Frankfurt flight, but from another carrier instead. As far as YOW goes, we still have non-stops via WS, but I suppose the lack of competition isn't good. Outside of that, this story is mostly a non-story.

I really like the upper patio, but that stairwell... :(

Icon and Medicine Hill both in the shot.

    Calgary | Kensington Manor | 34m | 9s | Amble Ventures | NORR

I like this one. It'll be great to see that empty lot filled in, and as surrealplaces said, the street portion, which is the most important for me, looks good.

    General Construction Updates

I'm still getting used to Calgary's streets being numbered, either that or you go out to a new subdivision and all the street names are almost exactly the same except for the odd letter changed here and there. The numbered street names are practical for getting around, but are utterly boring.

Any idea what the changes were for? Maybe they’re changing it from a bank to a restopub? 😁

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

For sure, I get where you’re coming from. Not being originally from Alberta, and not being here that long I haven’t had a chance to get to know all the differences between the two cities. I lived in Texas for two years and when I moved to Calgary I sometimes heard people say Calgary was similar...

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

Quite a gap between Calgary and Edmonton. I would have predicted probably closer to 300K difference. Toronto no surprise, it'll be keep exploding., bit I'm not sure Vancouver will be at 4.0M in 20 years. They had huge numbers due to the backlog of immigration, but I would expect to see Vancouver...

Who will be Alberta's largest metro in a decade?

I with your post agree for the most part. The only thing I would disagree with is the comparison of Calgary to Houston or Edmonton to Austin. From my experience neither city is comparable to either Austin or Houston. As someone who grew up in Toronto and southern Ontario, I see Calgary and...
