    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

An interesting question. Which leads to wondering if ONxpress is going to build the new stations that they are doing as 12-car stations or 5-car stations.

Did anything preclude two companies teaming together, with one building the passenger cars, and the other the locomotives?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

In response to the talk of no funding for the Line 2 trains. The whole thing was laid out above. Please read that, if you are still interested.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

??? My post about replacing the T1 rolling Stock. The full sequence was: Ah - I see. I thought that some life extension beyond 30 years had been an option when they were ordered. I guess I misremembered, and there can be no life extension.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I think you said that if they don't get the new Line 2 rolling stock, and instead rehab the T1s, then "Then the TTC will need new, more rigorous design standards for their track and structures to handle the heavier equipment". I'm not sure what Line 2 track and structures you are referring to...

The Bakerloo stock was upgraded in the 2010s to get them until mid-2030s. 60 years old. Only so much life for 25-to-30 year-old trains, means we can push of a decision for a decade or two, if we start making other plans soon.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Hang on. Are you saying that the Line 2 extension to Sheppard isn't being built to handle the weight of the current rolling stock?

they have the tools to increase fares only for riders that don't go to Pearson.

Perhaps we can find a way to get subway trains to last 50 to 60 years ... which will surely happen if there's no funding.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I just don't think they'd go to the polls that early - and that it's not a factor. Spring 2026 maybe.

    General railway discussions

It's all reserve- and treaty-specific. Some don't get anything. Some get $5 every 2 years, as per certain treaties. There are some large amounts - but that's settlement for damages, abuse, land-theft, and other treaty violations. Which certainly isn't long-term.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If there was a times saving, cutting UPE stops would make sense. But really - 2 minutes? This isn't about speed. This is about trains being so over-crowded at times with commuters, that people travelling to the airport can't get on and have to wait. The obvious immediate solution is pricing...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Temporary ... until 2030. Assume they finish on time. Worst is still yet to come!

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

A year early and we'll ahead in the polls? The last majority government to pull that one got unexpectedly booted.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

The underpricing of the UPE service is surely the root cause of this.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'd assume there'll be another announcement elsewhere for the Lakeshore trips - so they can focus on Milton with this. Perhaps there'll be further commitments about Milton all-day service.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

To be honest, with all the green lights they've added - it looks even more like that you can drive straight. Who could possibly process all that in the 1 second that the streetcar in front of you moves forward and you first see the sign. I've made comments (in a response to MetroMan on how it...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Didn't CUPE Local 2's agreement expire in March 2022? By that standard, we wouldn't see 113 strike until 2026! :)

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Indeed! The green arrow tells car drivers they have right of way. The walk symbol tells pedestrians they have right of way. I'd think any one who signs off in having them conflict would face professional misconduct, possibly being personally responsible if someone sued after the obvious...
