I'm guessing you haven't tried to transfer from the subway to the westbound 501. Or is there magic signage underground I never found. I haven't tried eastbound, but I'd imagine that's even more of a challenge ... probably quicker to change at King, or walk to (Jarvis?).

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Well that too ... but if you aren't close to looking it, it's going to raise questions at the very first fare inspection! That reminds me. I've always been confused about whether the Youth fare is for those 18 and under. Or under 18. As my eldest just turned 18, I assume that it would take...

And yet King is so much faster than Queen, even with the limited enforcement. Meanwhile the signage is horiffically poor. Where's the red paint? Where's the curbs and stuff? Where's the changes so they can get up clearer signage, eliminate the green lights, turn on electronic no-entry signs...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Especially when it's lit up, I wonder if they should have dropped Line 5 at Cedarvale more clearly. Which the seems to have done between Ionview and Kennedy.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Nor should he. The cost-benefit ratio would be near infinite, and the riders few and far between. This would be better served with bus. Much better served, as the bus can stop in every little town on demand, while that's difficult on a train. I think Thunder Bay is stretching GTA-West corridor...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I'd give the senior card to a senior, save it until your a senior. Or just pop into a Shoppers Drugmart or other outlet to get them to change it to an adult. That should be the easiest change to ask for!

I think you overestimate the number of people who would give up a single-seat ride, to save a couple of minutes. Especially given how often the second or third vehicle doesn't appear. One in hand is worth two in the bush (or perhaps a 501 in hand is worth a 3 in the tunnel) :)...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Who isn't minding one's own business? It was a disagreement between two people. We don't know what caused it. Surely the bigger issue is we've now got to the stage that TTC employees are starting knife attacks on customers that disagree with them! I've noticed that before in spots. What is...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

    On a Sunday?!

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Doesn't it turn left at a corner with a subway entrance? But it doesn't stop? Though I guess the question is, what will be happening after the TTC routes are all adjusted. Presumably the old 36C service west of Humber College wouldn't be running all the way from Finch.

The problem is Bradford is pretty far right-wing. He played his own constitutents by pretending to be progressive, but since his final ward election, has gotten pretty nasty - and now joins Holyday in many of the old 25-1 anti-urban votes. You are the one who got into politics!

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

And yet Metrolinx was still considering it after the foundation work for the city's Union Station renovations were complete. Perhaps they are still considering it. Perhaps not a day 1 item. This doesn't have to be perfect day 1. Look at HS1; initially it left the high speed tracks and ran over...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

You said "to expand and fund public transport like Rail". That's more than an operating subsidy! Lack of an operating subsidy for TTC isn't a recent issue - it goes back decades. But hasn't the Ford government increased operating subsidies for GO's rail service, with the service expansions, and...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Especially while finishing the conversion of the Hanlon (6) to expressway isn't. Which is simply some overpasses at this point; the land and lanes already there, and not a single driveway need be touched. I guess Guelph voted for the wrong party. Maybe this is why 7 keeps getting cancelled.

I don't think Bathurst-like transit lanes would shut down Queen Street.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Which is why the one post in this discussion suggested moving it to King Street through downtown, so as not to duplicate the subway. What you suggest won't even be as fast as the 501 - which the city has talked about putting in a transit corridor - I wonder how that pilot on King is doing. :) I...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I don't see how it's any different than being parked in an overloaded train at a GO station for 30+ minutes with the doors closed.
  18. nfitz

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Or the vehicle was parked in the middle of the rain, so if the doors were open, the person would have to cross a live lane of traffic?

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

All rather odd. I bet no one would have said a bad thing had he just made a quick announcement while waiting for an ambulance. And I'm sure that someone would have assisted - if only to flag down the ambulance! But we've probably all seen it before (well perhaps not the ambulance). Driver jumps...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The Humber College bus terminal perhaps. But what about the station? I assume they are going to be using (for eastbound) the stops at the SW corner of Humber College I'm not sure why the 336 stops there but the 36 doesn't.
