Im not sure how long it’ll take them to move the gantry back west, or how long it’ll take to jump over the girders at WEM station. If they can erect segments until December it’s possible.

Elevated section over 165st has been completed. 2 more to go before the gantry heads back west.

Kidding aside, I think it will most likely take the full 6 years to build, ie: end of 2028.

Wem station girder erection started last night. I wonder why they are using regular girders for this station, but the misericordia used the box girders that make up the rest of the elevated guideway?

I meant moreso that governments will wait until the construction industry saturates. There are so many construction projects that were started during COVID that most design - build bids only have 2-3 consortiums at max. I would think governments will wait until that number reaches 5 or 6. Costs...

All large infrastructure projects are facing the same issues: higher material costs, rising labour market pressures, and a lack of skilled workers. There’s most likely going to be a large reduction in capital projects until costs subside, and the construction industry reduces capacity.

Huh? A) this is a design build contact, specifically a CMAR (construction management at risk) procurement; not a P3. B) the city doesn’t manage the project, but they are the ones who can alter the scope of the project since, you know, they own the project? Typical of many on this sub, just...

Very true. I also had the same complaint about that consortium, especially since the other RFP consortiums were much more qualified.

They announced that CLDB was their preferred partner, this is achieving financial close.

Construction now anticipated in 2025; no way they make the September 2028 target completion. Most likely 2029 opening barring no major delays. I also feel like only having Ledcor and AECOM makes this D-B team pretty weak, especially considering the cost of the project- just my opinion though.

The obvious solution here is what they should have done last may: don’t build the twin brooks station. That would save most likely 300 million from the project budget. More importantly, it’s too close to century park for a suburban LRT line. Residents said they don’t want it, it’s only a 5-10...

I think this is the closest I’ve been to the crane, and watching it erect the segments is very cool to watch. The sheer size of the crane and the sections make it almost scary to watch. Hopefully the guideway will be finished this year.

I may be wrong, but it seems like Ellis dons’ pre construction work is quite behind. The pump station is still not finished, and lots of tunnel work still seems to be left. I wonder how that will affect the main contractor work?

If I remember correctly, the contract states that the main OMF be completed before the end of 2025 so they can store the LRV’s there. I know the southeast line stored the trains there before it was fully complete so I assume MIP does the same. I do think that the Lewis farms OMF will be done...
