The most lunatic arguments I have seen.

They're crying that Barrhaven shouldn't be like the city (it should be a neighborhood only... even though it's a 100k+ population district of our city), they are complaining about the height's shadows, that it will DESTROY driving and make traffic unbearable (all that CONGESTION), this needs to be affordable housing (fake virtue signaling, none of them actually care about it because I've seen similar names complaining about the refugee tent), someone falsely claimed it will be the tallest in Ottawa, they want more greenspace, they are cramming residents together, "why build this if LRT is already scrapped, it's never going to come", schools can't sustain this building. There was also a complaint that this will hurt the airport's airspace. This far out.

I saw someone say they hate this suburb and then say they live in Stittsville and that towers like this are too much growth too fast.

I don't even understand them.
They should take a trip to the Vancouver area and visit the suburbs along the Skytrain.

They'd be too scared of all the shadows and winds. Ottawa is coming to a point where we are early 2000s Vancouver, and the growth is only expected to continue snowballing. It is still pretty desirable to live here, so their concern of trying to keep it small while Canada grows overall is laughable.

Also, saw that the two Barrhaven councilors are in support of the project but are looking for positive feedback. If you like the project and how much it would help keep pushing a good precedent for our suburb districts to stop sprawling and start going up, then you can email them both below showing your support:

Done! Forgot to mention Toronto and Vancouver suburbs, but oh well.

Not sure how seriously they'll take an email from a guy who lives within the Greenbelt.

I've been saying this for over a year. Although Ottawa is growing faster than Toronto or Vancouver so I expect it to develop quicker than Vancouver

Yeah I've been there with the same mentality as you. Ottawa has the fortunate but also unfortunate reality that it is also rapidly growing faster than both at the comparative population.

Awesome, I'm sure it will make a difference - they're looking for any feedback that's positive, from what I've seen in their interactions.

I didn't attend, but there was a public session on the project yesterday in Barrhaven. A few NIMBYs with ridiculous questions and demands ("What if there's a fire", "We wanted a park", "Will it have enough elevators"). Apparently a few people were responding to the NIMBY chat questions with obvious answers. The session seem to have been attended mostly by people in favour. Councillors Hill and Lo are clearly in favour.

Here's a sketchup of Downtown Barrhaven I assume was presented last night.

These questions are ridiculous. Here's what these would look like on the Toronto lakefront. I'm pretty sure they can build enough elevators and put out any fires in these little towers in the middle of Barrhaven.
