I did notice they have a lot of different dates going on in their site. Sounds like they are a year behind where they wanted to be in terms of planning/design/engagement.
They have been working on this for some time: https://pub-ottawa.escribemeetings.com/filestream.ashx?DocumentId=75484

I'd hope they could work together as the Iraqi's redesign their consulate: https://devapps.ottawa.ca/en/applications/D07-12-12-0156/details

The design competition document is live now. Interesting massing with the metcalfe corner being a public park

Can't wait to hear the NIMBY's screaming over a 27s 'landmark' being proposed in the 'Central Character Area'

If there is any force more powerful in this city than the NIMBYs, though, it's Claridge. They own City Hall. This could be a good catalyst for more density in Centretown

Instead of a park, I'd prefer if Claridge offered one of the following:

- Restore the heritage budlings/homes;
- Built an underground garage for the Museum of Nature so that their surface parking could be naturalized (and remove Metcalfe stump);
- All of the above somehow.

I agree. Seems pointless and wasteful. It seems like they will be building parking under the park for their own building so probably no dice to get museum parking there. At the very least they should keep the second empire house on the corner. It could be restored and the original verandah reinstated for a really nice restaurant with outdoor seating. That would still allow plenty of space for the park that would now be better activated as a destination with the restaurant. Would be an ideal spot for a museum date and dinner.
