Toronto still has streetcar "safety" islands that cause accessibility issues for some people to access its streetcars. Boston is working on making its Green Line more accessible, see https://mass.streetsblog.org/2024/11/15/heres-the-mbtas-plan-to-make-the-green-line-b-branch-accessible
One problem that both Toronto and Boston had and have are the narrow and height of the streetcar platforms. Toronto should be doing the same with its streetcar platforms as Boston is attempting. Expect objections from the automobile addicted. Their solution is to remove the platforms entirely, which was already done at some locations, unfortunately.
