Taken 15 May. Stunning! I did inquire about programming and the idea is to be flexible as that is what was heard from community groups. And they are mindful of allowing the original plants to be displayed in the Palm Court but still working on it (likely rollers.)

Nothing wrong w/some eroticism in cinema......... but as with any Tom Cruise vehicle..... it has Tom Cruise in it, and its all about him. Two things that can sink any film.

I liked it better before. This reno of the Palm House looks like a vacant event space for weddings and such, and IMO is a poor replacement from the focus on plants rather than people that was there before. It was lush, with banana trees and permanent plants, not pots on rollers. All we need now is for Chris 'Sankofa' Moise to demand the space be renamed, and the city to add some folding chairs and tables to book it for events. What was wrong with how it was before?

I just felt so conflicted as I first entered the renewed palm house, feeling impressed by the excellent structural restoration but deeply disappointed by the scouring of all the plants from the space. It’s akin to taking one of the pavilions at the zoo (like the Indo-Malayan below), restoring the structure but killing or otherwise removing all the plants and animals so to make a venue space filled with folding chairs and tables.
The Toronto mindset, take the above, strip out its core feature and function, and turn it into a venue space.
