A park it is then. We don't want that mural covered up, so we? (even though it's really an ad)

Moreover, this proposed park can be complemented with some midrise or highrise developments east of the the historic Land Titles Building and north of the Omega building that can make 100 Ave feel less desolate.

The owners of this lot have been particularly difficult to deal with and really have not made much effort to keep this lot in good condition over the last decade. So almost anything would be an improvement here.

I'd be happy with an electric vehicle charging station here at this point (which is actually needed downtown). Anything would be better than the empty, fenced in lot of rubble that's there right now.

But these owners are not interested in doing anything that benefits the Downtown community and city, the same community and city that allowed them to build their businesses and wealth, which ultimately provided a good life for them. Absolutely zero fucks given at all by the geriatic owners, who are more interested in having a pissing match with each other from their rocking chairs.

This article from 2019 said Saunder and Singh are of "advanced age". Sadly I think the next milestone for this site will be when they finally kick the bucket and the site is liquidated and sold to another owner. Or, maybe their next of kin will just inherit it and continue the never-ending court case 🫠

Also, looks like this post was right on the money!

It's disgusting how long this site has permitted to sit in the state it was/is. It says to nearby residents, business owners and visitors that WE don't give a shit.
Some of us give a shit. But unfortunately, our city government is very ineffective in dealing with problems, particularly downtown and has to be constantly poked, prodded and embarrassed to really do anything.

Maybe we should unofficially rename this site the the Sohi or Stevenson Memorial Park as a tribute to their inaction and ineffectiveness.
