Wow, some of the best Barcelona pics I've ever seen - well done! And you've made an instant Gaudi fan out of me.

What's the Picasso museum like - does it compare to the one in Paris, if you've been there? And do you know anything about the tower in part II that looks like Foster's Swiss Re/St.Mary Axe building in London? Don't think I've ever seen photos of that before.

Thanks - great series.

Great series indeed!
I've been there 3 times and loved it, especially all of Gaudi's creations. Didn't you think that Parc Guell looks like an urban disneyland ;)
I've always seen 'Barça' as a European version of LA, it's a coastal city surrounded by hills, plus thousands of tourists from Northern Europe eventually settle there, kind of like how lots of Northeasterners move to California.

Really nice series of photos. I'm not a big Gaudi fan but it is perfectly at home in Barcelona. I really like that Jean Nouvell tower.

Thanks guys!

I didn't go to the Picasso museum, didn't have enough time. Sorry, I don't know anything about that tower. It looks nice though, isn't it?

Actually, I'm not crazy about Barcelona, I'd not go back. My friend got his wallet stolen the moment we got off the train from the airport. Those theives were experts. La Rambas, famous street, was totally over-rated. But some architectures and its waterfront were very nice. Without Gaudi, I'm not sure if there's anything worth seeing in Barcelona.

I'm going to Milano this September for 1-2 days...maybe going to Lake Como as well thanks to Casino Royale.....it depends on weather.

So, just to clarify, the tower that you're interested in Pep'rJack, is the Torre Agbar that Bogtrotter correctly identified as a Jean Nouvel creation. I'd love to see a Nouvel building somewhere here in town. You can check out Nouvel's work here.

I hope you change your mind... Theft happens everywhere, no more in Barcelona than elsewhere. La Ramblas... ok, not the greatest street, but is not the true heart of Barcelona. It's winding, narrow streets, (most famously the Barri Gotic) that criss-cross the city that make Barcelona wonderful.
