I have to admit I've been a total lurker on this site for years. Mostly just admiring the crazy transformation happening in Toronto.

I'm looking to invest in a real estate investment fund that has a lot of assets in Toronto. I don't think there's a bubble, or even if there is, it's not gonna pop in the near or even mid term future. Does anyone have any experience investing in REITs that are focused on Toronto? Any recommendations I can look into?

Aren't most REITs invested in commercial properties such as malls, offices and apartments. If this is the case you'd be excluding the coveted Toronto low-rise residential properties.

I would actually like to know more about the types of properties a REIT would hold, if someone would be kind enough to explain.
