I can't stand ToysRUS. The teenage staff don't want to help, the music they play is not preschool appropriate and is much too loud, the toys are crap, and everything is made in China. I'm a big "avoid China" shopper, since my biz has taken me to the sweat shops of China, where thousands of people slave away in rooms making toys for the west. I'm no socialist, but I'll pay more for a western product when I can.
My favourite toy store thus far found is on the Danforth at IIRC Pape. Of course now I can't remember the name, but it's one of those smaller indepedent shops that sells a variety of toys from all over the globe. If it's made of plastic, it usually comes from China, but if you look you can still find wooden blocks from the USA, dolls from Germany, lego from Denmark and MegaBlocks from good old Canada, etc...
Any good independent toy stores in your neighbourhoods? My target market is kids 1-3 years old.
And why can't I find weebles any more? That was a great toy.
