"Back to base build" just means that a tenant that is leaving has to renovate the space back to the regular building standards. So that the reno for the next tenant will be easier.
 
Guys!! What happened to tods, dior, brunello, Tom ford?? Did they stop looking because of the economy faltering or are they still actively seeking space? There's no talk of it at all.

There'll be some openings now that Chanel is moving and HMV is closing up shop. Of course, the HMV location probably isn't the best for a luxury brand.
 
A friend of mine architected it. She now lives in London and is Selfridge's in-house chief architect. I wonder how long before the Selfridge folks make a move on their other store at 50 Bloor West? They are certainly dragging their feet on it…

The pop-up shops for the Andy Worhol show and Clarke's Shoes now have construction hoarding and unfortunately they took down two or three of the newly replaced trees to accommodate the supports for the hoarding. Those trees just keep getting abused, first by severe weather than construction. Whatever goes there better be worth those trees' demise.
 
Any news on Eataly? What's the chance of the store opening in Yorkville/Bloor versus other locations, such as in the new Loblaw building at Bathurst and Lake Shore?

edit: As for Yorkville, are there any retail space that can accommodate Eataly by 2017 other than Holt Renfrew and potentially the Manulife Centre location?
