Grilli exposed again. He was effective last season, but just looks plain old and predictable now. Leone throwing beach balls out there. Gibbons left him in there for a while to continue letting things get out of hand. Howell unconvincing once again. Another limited bargain bin signing.

Osuna now 1 for 4 in save opportunities. It's early, and he didn't log many innings during Spring Training/WBC, but when does this become a problem?
Probably when it continues to be like that mid-season.
Thole couldn't hit a beach ball
Thole can't even hit a giant plush baseball sold at the Jays store even with a cricket bat.
Wow, you must be lowering the bar to the beginner level so that Thole could advance up past the level. On the other hand, Salty was playing poorly on both sides (offensive and defensive.)

Defensive:
Salty's framing was off this season.

Offensive:
He went 1-for-25 with 16 strikeouts

Improvement being shown from the bullpen. Tepera pitching the game of his life. Osuna bouncing back and converting the save.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER...
The Blue Jays have (finally):
  • Won 2 consecutive games
  • Won a series
Update on how they are doing (They are in fifth place):

8 wins
17 losses
.320 winning percentage
8.0 games behind first place
4-8 at home
4-9 on the road
5-5 record for last 10 games

It is definitely clear they are getting better :)
