Thought I'd share this here.

I spoke to someone from Brampton Transit's Development side of things and they informed me that they anticipate the construction of the 504 Zum Chinguacousy to be finalized by mid to late summer of 2025.

The plan is to launch the 504 alongside the HMLRT, and they plan to reallocate many buses on 502 Zum to the 504.

If for some reason the HMLRT is delayed, they'll expand service on the 104. They mentioned that they're looking to expand the 104 service later this year as part of the service plan, and they're looking for efficiencies in the system to allocate more resources to the #4 route.

Why not just extend the Route 50 that goes to Humber College?

Because Gore Road doesn’t go towards Bolton. Highway 50 does. The 50 Gore Road bus has very good ridership where the 41 runs very infrequently. That should change once BT gets more buses and operators, but the geography and service patterns don’t match.

I thought the 50 was a Highway 50 route. Looking at the BT website, I see it's not. But I'd think there'd be enough ridership along Highway 50 now for a full service route between Humber College and Bolton.

It also boils down to having buses and drivers to provide the extra service which BT is short of today.

There is a Massive MTSA Dump by the City week that shows the BRT stops and development nearby.

Planning staff indicated that the Bus terminal at BCC is not planned to be moved to Queen street as originally thought for the Queen BRT. They're probably going to stick with a loop off Queen ST.

Great post, but maybe not the right thread. I think it probably belongs in a planning thread for DT Brampton. Not sure which existing thread might be best, or if a new one might make more sense here.

There's a lot in the MTSA consultations, with the second batch focused on Mount Pleasant, Downtown Brampton, and the Sheridan-Shoppers World area. Zum serves all of these areas. I'm inclined to leave them here for now, until they coincide with specific threads elsewhere.

Any idea how the Queen BRT is intended to work downtown to say... East heading toward Centre street? I can understand having lanes in the middle of the road after Centre, not so much anything going west of Centre downtown.

Queen is very narrow in the city core now and will require the removal of all on street parking and some expropriation of land where stations will are to be built. Traffic will be a single lane with no left turn lanes unless land is expropriated for them. Otherwise, enough road width for a centre ROW for the BRT on either side of the city core.

Mississauga Dundas BRT has that issue today with the city allowing for 45m width to allow the widening of the road as redevelopment of the existing land takes place over the next few decades. Traffic will be a bitch once the ROW is built at Hurontario St.
