This project is a good step in redeveloping towards the Dufferin stretch, but I do agree with many of your sentiments that the building looks cheap. You should see the inside of the building also (not sure if it's reflected in those PDI vids) - I'll take a couple of pics later when I get a chance. However, with that said, the original pricing of the units here were amazing for the location. $350/SqFt for "Liberty Village" or "wQw" is pretty damned good.

Good job on bringing retail to the area, but where is the bridge?!?!?

Buyers need to start demanding to get delivered what was promised.

The line given by the builder is that the bridge has to get approval from the railways since they own the land, which it has not been able to do yet. I wonder who would have to pay for the bridge, the builder, the city or the railway? Judging from the Concord bridge at Front, perhaps the builder? So I don't think the builder is making too hard an effort to do so. Perhaps it's waiting for the other phases to be built to make a stronger argument for required pedestrian access.
