I like the scale of that Electric Avenue building. That would be perfect for that location, especially if they could build in the old York Hotel.

I love the scale of it too. It's unlike anything we currently have in Calgary, and it would be an excellent amenity and population density boost right where we need it.

A few photos from Saturday, it looks like they have bottomed out on the west side of the site.

That is a big hole in the ground.

Hopefully this development pans out well .. It's a pretty prime, visible location and will be a cornerstone of the EV with the grocery store going on the main level.

Even if they don't build the towers, the retail portion will make a huge difference to the look coming into downtown over the flyover or via LRT,.

Is it just me, or does that not look like a lot of parking space for a major retail centre and two huge residential towers? I mean, I know it's a full city block, but that looks only 3 levels deep...

I'm assuming they will be starting with a crane on the west side, and still be excavating the east side as they go.

Most of the pit is now excavated. Before you know it, they'll be at grade!
That could be s while, it's a massive hole. A whole lot of concrete is going to need to be poured before it gets to grade.
