Hospital in Toronto. Truman does curtainwall.

Can I ask the quick difference in layman’s terms between curtain wall and window wall? I’m assuming curtain wall is better and more ideal?

Curtainwall hangs of the edge of the slab while window wall is secured between the slabs. You get better a better seal with more space for insulation at the slab edge with curtainwall. More important is the most common curtainwall used is structural silicone glazed (SSG) curtainwall in which the panels are "glued" to the frame. The most common window wall uses mullion caps to secure the panels. One has a seamless appearance. The other is anything but seamless in appearance.

Another important factor to a quality seamless look is venting. Venting through the curtainwall ruins the look and creates more bulkheads in the units. The alternative is running the venting inside the floor slab with the openings under the balcony slabs. It also minimizes the number of bulkheads in the units.

Was really surprised to see some piles and other equipment on site today. If this and their first street project gets going, they’d be building 4 Beltline projects at the same time.

Truman’s really becoming the new king of the Beltline 👑

Edit I went back later and there was less equipment, I think they’re using this site as staging for their other nearby sites. The good news is their first street project just started!

I think Truman are becoming the kings of multi-family for the whole city, they have a ridiculous # of doors under construction in every part of the city.
😆 true they’re basically building a new downtown in the West District too. I wish Truman would take over The Rivers District east of the new arena and build something similar as one massive project.

WHAT!? U/C already

That's great that they appear to be preparing to get started on Lincoln already. Now that it's approved they still need to wait for the appeal period is over before starting official construction, but I don't imagine any appeals will be forthcoming, it rarely happens in Beltline. This is really amazing news! So much construction underway in Beltline now, and much of it is thanks to Truman. Hard to believe that we were talking about a construction drought only a few months ago!
