I imagine the installation of the wood soffit is done by now, so hopefully sometime soon. It'll make the building look more "complete" from its primary angle.

I also really hope that they improve the flow of the pedestrian gates at the tunnel portal as part of the 3rd Street SE revitalization project. That shit is, currently, whack.

As someone who uses them twice daily, I agree. Hence, why I am also looking forward to the pedestrian access under the belly of the library to open too!

Is purple the only or does it change? The level of brightness is perfect, and if it changed colors once in a while it would be nice. A warm white would look great IMO.

Apparently the purple lighting is only temporary and has been installed by the library foundation to promote their 'sponsor a window' fundraising campaign. It's a shame it won't be a permanent feature as I think it really adds to the building's design at night.

Agreed. I like it a lot. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of the purple, but that corner being lit up adds another dynamic to the area. It kinda livens up the intersection.

I don't mind the purple, but it is certainly overdone for LEDs in this city with City Centre, 707, and Versus. At least with Versus though it's the full gamut of colours.

I really wish this was a permanent, nighttime art installation. I think a lot of people would notice it on their commutes home.

Lots of colorful LED's these days. I would be happy if the lighting was plain old white uplighting. IMO it would go better with the colors and style of the Library, and have colors used during certain times of the year. I have to admit the cooler blue's or purples might be a cool pairing with the winter weather.
