It would not surprise me to hear that Strategic Group is struggling to get financing. The subsidy from the city for office conversion helps but does not even begin to offset the total cost of this project.

My barber use to be in the building next door and told me the site isn't very secure and pretty frequently has people living in it. They even had their building broken into because they could access the roof of the neighboring building from Barron and then simply just went in from the roof. The barber tried to contact the city numerous times to get updates on construction but eventually gave up and have now relocated.

I went by today and saw a small excavator and a bobcat doing some digging behind the building, loading up a dump truck. Not a lot of action, but something was going on. Terrible photo from the Plus15:

Strategic groups website has a recent post relating to The last of us filming in the building, claiming that this building will be done and move-in ready next year. Assuming that's true, I'd expect to see some major construction starting back up soon.
