Are they building a new section at the back of this building as part of this reno or is the back just open like that because of the demolition and stuff that went on prior to the renovation starting?

The crane is turned 180 degrees in UW’s picture from where it was on Aug. 22nd.

There was a decent amount of activity here this morning, I'm not sure what exactly they are doing, but they are excavating a lot of dirt with several dump trucks lined up along the street.

Every time I pass the site there are workers and activity, but from the outside there isn’t any visible progress.

Are there any renderings that show the back of the building? I took a peak through the construction fencing the other day and it looks like work has been ongoing on some sort of parkade structure that is almost at grade. Given the crane placement and how the rear of the building has been stripped away it looks like a full height extension will be built as part of this renovation. If true, I'll be very curious how they plan to blend old and new.
