Pretty amazing how far along we are in the 30-year route ahead plan drafted in 2013!

17th Avenue SE corridor total ridership up 2,270 boardings (no base ridership provided).

What I would kill for is a route-by-route ridership report published annually by Calgary Transit. We have such a lack of detailed information here for us transit nerds. Compare to what Vancouver's Translink provides https://public.tableau.com/profile/translink#!/vizhome/2018TSPR-BusSeaBusSummaries/TheWorkbook

For some reason, Bus route ridership stats is a closely guarded secret for CT.

I bet that it is sort of a feedback loop - releasing the numbers would probably create a political necessity to shift to a frequent network, and kill the coverage goal. So until council endorses a process to look at that, or mandates the numbers come out...
 
First time on one of the new natural gas busses and it’s pretty nice. It smells like a new car haha. I should have taken a pic when I was boarding. Less noisy and shakey too.

Edit: got a shitty one as I was getting off (that’s what she said?)

The Development Liason (like a DP, but more of an FYI to the City's planning department) goes to CPC next week for the Victoria Park LRT station rebuild and 17th Avenue extension. The report is here:

Maybe I missed others, but the only colour images I can find are these smaller, low res ones. Lots of technical plan drawings though.

I don't know if I like it, it's just kind of meh. To me it looks just like any old LRT stop. Could be better, could be worse. 🤷‍♂️ My main critique is the ground pedestrian crossings, I can't imagine 5,000 Flames fans (some drunk) leaving after a game and using a ground crossing would end well. At this station it makes sense to have an overhead bridge for people to use.
 
It's pretty basic for such a high profile location, but it's better than the concrete bunker stations that are there now. It would be nice if the city and Stampede could get together and jointly develop a station that somehow ties directly into the Stampede's building and the station was partially indoors.
